Rama vs Shiva

  • People recently I went to Rameshwaram and have been wanting to write a small write up.
  • I wanted to visit inside the temple but could not.
  • I went upto Dhanushkodi as far as the vehicle goes and turned around.
  • On that road we saw ocean and water on both sides.
  • One side water was sea blue colour and other side it was turquoise green.
  • Almost same case was on Pamban bridge. The bridge on the ocean. One side blue water and other side was green water. Rail bridge was also visible from the road bridge.
  • The question about the temple.
  • Did some research and found out that the temple is "Ramanathaswamy temple". It is a Shiva temple.
  • It comes as 12 Jyotirlingas which are the prominent Shiva destinations for the devotees which as as under (Source)
    • Somnath in Gujarat (1)
    • Mallikarjuna at Srisailam in Andhra Pradesh (2)
    • Mahakaleswar at Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh (3)
    • Omkareshwar in Madhya Pradesh (4)
    • Kedarnath in Uttrakhand (5)
    • Bhimashankar at Pune in Maharashtra (6)
    • Viswanath at Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh (7)
    • Tryambakeshwar at Nashik in Maharashtra (8)
    • Vaijyanath Temple in Deoghar District of Jharkhand (9)
    • Aundha Nagnath at Aundha in Hingoli District in Maharashtra (10)
    • Rameshwar at Rameshwaram in Tamil Nadu (11)
    • Grushneshwar at Ellora near Aurangabad, in Maharashtra.(12)
  •  As a matter of fact Rameshwaram also classifies as "Char Dham" which means the 4 holiest places for Narayan or Vishnu Bhakts which as below :(Source)
    • (1) Dham of Satyuga- Badrinath, Uttarakhand
    • (2) Dham of Tretayuga -Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu
    • (3) Dham of Dwaparayuga - Dvaraka, Gujarat
    • (4) Dham of Kaliyuga - Jagannatha Puri, Odisha.
  • Now Rameshwaram is a unique place which qualifies both as 12 Jyotirlings as well as 4 Dham.
  • But Rameshwaram temple is a Shiva temple where is Vishnu temple as main deity in Rameshwaram. That is the question.
  • So now a small write up I found in Wikipedia came to my notice. I know Wikipedia has its shortcomings as one could edit it as many times as one wants. But one also quotes the sources in Wikipedia and that is important. First the writeup as below:
    • In the Puranas Hari (Vishnu) and Hara (Shiva) are referred as eternal friends. It is said wherever Lord Vishnu resides, Lord Shiva resides nearby. The Char Dham follows this rule. So Kedarnath is considered as the pair of Badrinath, Rama Setu is considered the pair of Rameswaram, Somnath is considered as the pair of Dwaraka and Lingaraja is considered the pair of Jagannatha Puri. However, according to some traditions, the Char Dham are Badrinath, Ranganatha-Swami, Dwaraka and Jagannatha-Puri, all of which are Vaishnava sites, and their associated places are Kedarnath, Rameswaram, Somnath and Lingaraja Temple, Bhubaneswar (or maybe Gupteshwar) respectively.
  • As per the above write up since Rameshwaram temple is Shiva temple it cannot technically be a Char Dham. So Ranganathaswamy temple near Trichy is the Vishnu temple which can qualify as Char Dham.
  • The fact that Vishnu and Shiva are so closely related will defeat Isckon and their devotees including new so called "Hinduism adopters".
  • Related fact is one can only be born as Hindu one cannot became Hindu by conversion.
  • Only one who was born as Hindu and went to another religion can return back as Hindu also called "Ghar Wapsi" or return to ones roots.
  • One who was born into another religion can never ever become Hindu. And that is a fact.
  • Maybe a woman can become Hindu after marriage if she is of other religion. But that is not compulsory as Hinduism is a very lenient religion.
  • But what I meant by "new Hinduism adopters" or "Iskcon devotees" is they consider the "Supreme Personality of God head" as Vishnu or Narayan or the Ten Avatars of Vishnu
  • And they totally ignore Shiva.
  • The fact is there is no Vishnu without Shiva and Shiva without Vishnu.
  • The fact of the theory that there is only one God (Monotheism) is defeated once one understands the relationship between Shiva and Vishnu (or Rama).
  • Here, people will always land in confusion especially the people of Tamil Nadu.
  • There is a scene in the movie Ponniyin Selvan movie where the hero asks the Pandit as who is greater Shiva or Vishnu and there is no clear answer.
  • That is a mystery no one can ever solve.
  • And here the so called "proponents of Hinduism" get defeated.
  • Even Hanuman is called as Avatar of Lord Shiva.
  • And in several photos they have shown Hanuman at the feet of Lord Rama.
  • But in Rameshwaram, Lord Rama prays to Lord Shiva as he had committed a sin of killing a brahmin king Ravana Source
  • So those who follow Hinduism blindly should know that there is no "one God" in Hinduism.
  • There are at least "two Gods" Ram and Shiva.
  • There is third God Brahma and who is not to prayed to.
  • And there is a story behind that too. Why Brahma is not worshipped
  • So those people who think that they will worship only Vishnu or Narayana or Rama and are saved are never are.
  • They have to give up the concept of "one God" and keep belief in Shiva to survive in Hinduism.
  • And they have to worship others as well, Gods like Ganesha, Murugan, Ayappan and Durga amd Hanuman for which there are separate festivals and temples. They are also known as "demi-gods".
  • Okay we can say they are demi gods but we cannot say Shiva as demi God. That would be a sacrilege  to some. Is Lord Shiva a Demi-God

Mid Day Meeal, Doctor G, Black Adam

Watched three movies as mentioned above. All movies were watched on the big screen.

Mid Day Meeal

  • This movie needs to be watched for the fact that the movie is shot in unspoilt beautiful locations in Chhatisgarh and Raipur.
  • So the movie can be excused for bad acting and action sequences.

Doctor G

  • This movie is so good that it is the "true IMAX experience".
  • Tell me what does IMAX hope to contribute to a movie going person.
  • It hopes to contribute a truly "immersive" experience.
  • Trust me this movie provides such a thing.
  • You feel you are actually inside the movie with the actors along with them.
  • In their laughter and joys and scenes.
  • Such good is the movie that you forget you are in a cinema hall.
  • And you are actually with the actors who have given such stellar performances.

Black Adam

  • This is totally a great action movie which can be watched by full family.
  • Set in a location like Lebanon which has sea coast plus mountains.
  • That is the hometown of Black Adam and the king Ack-Toun.
  • Movie has great special effects.
  • Movie will have sequels and audience cannot get enough.
  • The cinema I went to had audience with 95% occupancy in 2nd day and audience was not willing to budge from the seats.
  • The were waiting for more like Marvel does, extras during end credits.
  • Audience loved it. Definitely felt like that. They wanted more.

Kantara, Last Film Show, Halloween Ends

Watched three movies as mentioned above. All were watched on big screen

Kantara

  • Watched the Hindi version of the movie.
  • I liked the movie.
  • Though the movie is full of adultery and alcohol, it still is must watch.
  • This is what life actual is in the rural regions of India.
  • It is part factual. The fact that one dons the dress of a "deity" and deity immerses inside him has been seen in my native place also.
  • Last 30 minutes not to missed. You cannot even blink your eye.
  • You blink and you miss.

Last Film Show

  • This movie is so good that it really deserves an Oscar as it is India's official entry to the Oscar.
  • Movie shows how movies move from physical reels to computerization and digitiation
  • Reels end up as plastic items and boxes and metal things end up as spoons and plates.
  • Only in Gujarat such a movie is possible as there is backwardness and industrialization in one place.
  • Other places either may be too advanced in thoughts or may not be such indiustrialized as Gujarat.
  • Movie is must watch.
  • The fact that such a movie can be made shows the greatness of cinema.
  • It is a lot of movies rolled into one.
  • There is a little bit of "Lunchbox" movie as well.

Halloween Ends

  • This movie shows the might of people when they come together as a society and decide to end the menace of Michael Myers once and for all.
  • Movie is okay for a one time watch.
  • Movie picks up pace after 30-40 minutes and does not stop till its end.

Vikram Vedha, Modiji, Tiranga

Watched three more movies as below:

Vikram Vedha

  • This movie was watched on big screen.
  • After watching this movie I came to conclusion that without Brahmins in this world, world or India would not survive.
  • People especially the warrior class would fight till the death and end.
  • Even the warrior class have to survive. And hence they resort to corruption.
  • Corruption makes the world goes around but it leads to tension and friction and clashes.
  • Brahmins make this world livable by diverting the rage into godly affairs.
  • Even if not the world at least it is applicable to India.

Modiji Ki Beti

  • This movie was watched on big screen.
  • The purpose of this movie is propaganda.
  • Especially when Gujarat and Himachal elections are due.
  • The movie shows that all Indian daughters or women are Modiji or PM Modi's daughters.
  • Like we used to say earlier all Indians are my brothers and sisters, the mantra they use in this movie is all Indian women are Modiji's daughter.
  • BJP and RSS knows that Indian women are 50% of voting public and women can be easily manipulated and swayed by emotions.
  • And hence this movie.
  • But okay this movie can be watched once.
  • This is shot in hilly areas maybe Himachal or Uttarakhand and those have been passed off as Kashmir and PoK.

Code Name Tiranga

  • This movie was watched on big screen.
  • The action sequences are very well choreographed.
  • Especially the last single shooter screen where an entire barracks is taken out by our female assasin and heroine.
  • The hero is like a boy toy. No role for the hero in this movie.
  • Movie is okay to be watched once.

Chakki, Paradise, Red

Watched three more movies as mentioned above.

Chakki

  • This movie was watched on big screen where I was the only person in the theatre.
  • I liked the movie.
  • Hero Rahul Bhatt is too good.
  • How he faces the struggle is shown for electric bill being overcharged.

Ticket to Paradise

  • This movie was watched on big screen and only two persons including me were in theatre.
  • I liked the movie.
  • Great island beauty is shown.
  • And what would the island Bali do without American tourists. That is shown.
  • Worth watching at least once.

One Piece Film : Red

  • This Japanese movie with English subtitles was watched on big screen
  • Amazing animation/ anime movie.
  • Worth watching according to me.
  • This is also like Matrix movie where something happens in real world which is quite contradictory to what happens in a world where people are transported after listening to song of the character "UTA"

Darling, Ponniyin, Goodbye, Hindutva

Watched several movies over past few days. Also mentioned below:

Don't Worry Darling

  • This movie was watched on big screen.
  • I liked the movie.
  • The movie starts as mystery. The people are based in an artificial city which suspected to beeither nuclear testing site or something like Raccoon City from Resident Evil.
  • But turns out it is neither.
  • It is like Matrix. Where people pay to be in an artificial environment where they can be happy.
  • Hell it can be like Metaverse.

Ponniyin Selvan 1

  • This movie was watched on big screen.
  • I liked the movie.
  • Shows 1000 year old past of area of Tamil Nadu where wars and struggle for consolidation was common.
  • Sequel is also coming.

Goodbye

  • This movie was watched on big screen.
  • Shows the last rites in a Hindu family based in North India preferably Delhi.
  • Worth watching once.

Hindutva

  • This movie is not that bad as it may seem or sound.
  • I liked the movie.
  • The movie is like Archies as it shows struggles between two groups in a college.
  • But the twist is Hindu and Muslim politics is shown.
