Hindi best of 2011

• Just like there are top English songs there are top Hindi songs as well.
• What happens when we listen on FM radio they give an assortment of songs. It is like a "chutney" or mix of songs.
• Some songs may be from 2010 some may be from 2015 and some from 2017.
• We never get to know when the songs were on "top of the charts".
• Hence, I decided to make a playlist of songs.
• I first listened to Top 30 songs on Saavn.com app on Samsung Galaxy Tab which I bought in December 2010.
• The Galaxy Tab did not have FM radio and so I had to listen to Internet radio like Sky.Fm which is now RadioTunes and TuneIn Radio and Saavn.com
• Now when I wanted to access Saavn.com archives I came to know the bitter truth that old archives are not available.
• I mean we cannot get access to the old playlists.
• There are a lot of "unofficial" or user driven playlists but i guess those are not the same as the original ones.
• So I relied on Gaana.com to compile the playlists.
• While for English songs I have started from 2001 for Hindi I decided to start from 2011 and so the playlist for 2011, 2012 and 2013 is ready at present and I will soon make 2014, 2015 and 2016. I am going on updating 2017 and it is also accessible.
• After that I intend to work backwards from 2010, 2009 and so on.
• It depends on time and interest and it is a slow and cumbersome affair.

Rage Iconic Videos

• Rage is/was a classic program on Australia Network.
• Australia Network was a channel which was not available on home DTH Networks like Tata Sky but was available through cable.
• Rage was a two hour program without any ads and used to play non stop music.
• Unfortunately Australia Network shut down few years ago.
• It came back as Australia Plus and was available on various new platforms including Tata Sky.
• But there was no Rage program now. Maybe due to copyright issues.
• But Rage is continued to be broadcasted in their home country of Australia.
• Australian citizens can watch through iView which outsiders can't.
• But, Rage has a website www.abc.net.au/rage
• And recently rage completed thirty years and so they made a list of 50 songs from each decade, i.e. 1988-1997, 1998-2007 and 2008-2017.

The Goal

• Watched this 1999 movie starring Irrfan Khan and I must say that this movie is just great.
• It is a gem of a movie.
• This movie got downloaded to Tata Sky pen drive when we leave it in standby mode overnight.
• You realise that so many good movies just pass you by and you're never even aware.
• It makes you fall in love with the game of football.
• It makes you want to be young again so that you can play football.
• You realise that it is just wrong that cricket is the most popular game in the Indian subcontinent.
• The credit should go to football.
• Football and Indians were made for each other.
• Unfortunate that cricket has got the respect which should have gone to football.
• Maybe the traditional Indians felt/feel that cricket being a "gentleman's game" and watched Englishmen play they thought they can beat the English by dominating in cricket. 
• Beat them in their own game so as to say and feel superior and same continues even 70 years after independence.
• But the truth is football is a real game which one can build a career with.
• Or so it appears in the movie.
• And in a perfect world and perfect India would have been the one where football is given more respect than cricket.
