Nawabzade, American Sniper

Watched two movies meanwhile as mentioned above
-------------------------------------------------------------
Nawabzade
  • This movie was watched on Prime Video.
  • I liked the movie.
  • The three lead actors in the movie are a perfect team.
  • I want more movies with three of them.
  • They had come in Any Body Can Dance (ABCD) movie
  • That movie was also too good.
  • The second part was hijacked by Varun Dhavan.
  • But Nawabzade movie is worth watching according to me.
-------------------------------------------------------------
American Sniper
  • This movie was watched on Hotstar
  • I liked the movie.
  • The particular segment where Chris Kyle is dead and his body is being taken and along the way many people are standing with American flags is actual footage and shows the Americans dedication towards their country.
  • I felt the movie is anti War movie.
  • I mean it shows the Americans as invaders.
  • When people and mob gather in large numbers Americans have to withdraw is shown the movie.
  • Surely American can't mow through crowd.
  • Americans work for God and and not Devil is shown in the movie.
  • Also soldiers lose limbs and mind which is worse as they have to deal with it throughout their life which is bad is shown in the movie.
  • Families are also torn apart due to repeated postings abroad for months at a stretch which is bad is shown in the movie.

The War

  • Watched the seven part series "The War"(2007) on Netflix.
  • Each episode is around two hours long.
  • It is worth watching.
  • It shows the story of Second World War from an American perspective.
  • Mainly it shows the perspective from four American towns Waterbury, Sacramento, Mobile and Luverne.
  • Before each episode they show clearly that Second World War was fought in thousands of places too many for any one accounting.
  • It is too good.
  • Worth watching.
  • I will say there is plenty of learning in the series.
  • I am afraid I will not be able to reproduce all that I have learnt in this blogpost.
  • All I can say I learnt plenty of things which I was not aware of before.
  • I can give examples.
  • How Japanese Americans were transferred to camps and then some of them were given a chance to prove the loyalty by going into the war.
  • How Americans were held as prisoners by Japanese and a staggering figure of 168,000 prisoners.
  • How in a few hours bombing hundred thousand were killed in Tokyo and Dresden in Germany.
  • How the nuclear bomb made Japan surrender else the invasion of Japanese homeland would have cost upto 500,000 American lives and seven million Japanese.
  • Compared to that 250,000 lives were lost immediately when the nuclear bombs wer dropped.
  • Also USA did not have any more atom bombs but Japan did not know that and hence they surrendered. Producing new bombs could have taken months.
  • Germany was systematically degraded and Nazi rule was wiped out. What they thought would last for a 1000 years could only make it to 12.
  • Germany was squeezed slowly but surely from all sides.
  • The Battle of Bulge was perhaps the last push Germany could manage to make but it was catastrophic for them. It was a Winter War on the border of France Germany and Belgium.
  • When Sasha Weizheimer a prisoner in Santo Tomas camp in Manila began to narrate her story related to hunger we dismissed it but as the story went on and on we realised the horror of the prison camp.
  • Another story of John Frazier how he was held as prisoner in four different locations in Japan after capture in Philipines and when the war ended the guards simply went away and he and other prisoner just boarded train to Tokyo and then got on ship to San Francisco.
  • Japan like Germany was also similarly degraded slowly and slowly and it too capitulated.
  • Island after island changed hands from Japan to US.
  • Looking back we realise that Vietnam War was was an indirect result of Second World War because American military was already there mobilised in Pacific and Philipines post Second World War and they hit the land mass of Asia in full force at Vietnam and then they withdrew and focussed on Middle East but that is a different story.
  • How problem between African Americans and Whites were still there in those days.
  • Several decades more would be required for the integration of the communities.
  • Even now there is not a perfect integration. Problems of race still exist.
  • It is also clear that Second World War could not have been won without American Support and involvement.
  • Also in American heartland women contributed as much as men in industry and so on.
  • Without women involvement no war can ever be won.
  • Also a particular German Prisoner of War also could make out when the American Soldier came from and had minute details (like the junction of two rivers one of which was like a stream) which means Hitler had made a "Committee of America" (like Ministry) and it was Hitlers plan to move on to America after Europe.
  • Also nuclear bomb was actually made for Germany but Germany surrendered and there was no need to use it. And hence it got diverted to Japan which had not surrendered.
  • The joy when the war ended was also too much everywhere.
  • Towards the end they show that currently a thousand Second World War veterans are dying everyday. And that I guess is part of being human.

Virat Kohli comment

  • This blog post is about Virat Kohli comment that one should leave India if one does not like Indian batsman is bad.
  • I mean how uneducated is Virat Kohli.
  • His education has plenty of gaps.
  • What use is cricket if he cannot appreciate freedom of thinking.
  • I must say I am deeply disappointed with Virat Kohli.
  • He is a role model for youngsters and captain for present Indian cricket team.
  • If a person like that says such things I have no hope left for India.
  • India will degenerate more and more and slowly become a fascist state.
  • I mean IPL has been going on for 11 years and counting.
  • Foreign players have been playing in India for more than a decade in Indian league.
  • Still Virat Kohli does not understand that.
  • Virat Kohli also has been in IPL since 2008.
  • Still he says like that.
  • Sometimes people like Chris Gayle, sometimes like A B DeVilliers in RCB Bangalore team.
  • Does that mean they should leave India.
  • I mean the uneducation (if there is a word like that) of Virat Kohli impresses me.
  • He has been roaming around the world for cricket and all he can say when he comes back to India is to ask people leave India if you don't like Indian players.
  • It is like the BJP-RSS-Sangh Parivar remark they make "Go to Pakistan" and now Virat Kohli is toeing their line.
  • It is like you scratch my back and I scratch yours.
  • Virat Kohli is making remarks to legitimise the Sangh Parivar.
  • Now surely he will be rewarded by them.
  • And that is what is disturbing.
  • We must stand up for what we think is right and not become a stooge of the RSS goons.
  • I have no explanation of Virat Kohli except that he made the remark intentionally.
  • If he has made the remark intentionally at the behest of BJP-RSS, no way he will ever apologise as it is the trademark of the BJP scoundrels.
  • They never apologise for anything and that is the trademark of BJP.
  • The person who is born in a country has no control of it.
  • There may or may not be rebirth, it may be a myth for all we know.
  • Also if one wants to leave a country that may not always be possible.
  • One may not have money to travel or one may have family which he cannot leave or abandon.
  • Sometimes Visas do not fall from tha sky.
  • Visa may not be granted by country one wants to go to.
  • Sometimes one cannot travel due to health reasons.
  • Some people may not be aware of how to apply for a Visa in first place.
  • But to Virat Kohli it does not matter.
  • All that matters "Leave India if you do not like Indian batsman" and that is bad both for the country and its people.

Ghoul

  • Watched the above series in Netflix.
  • I liked the series.
  • Radhika Apte is called into by the Ghoul who is called by her father.
  • How a state degenerates as a police state in near future is shown in the series.
  • Obviously the Ghoul cannot fight the state.
  • But is terrifying anyway.
  • The Ghoul as such is not terrifying.
  • Because the Ghoul will not hurt innocents.
  • The Ghoul will hurt people from both sides, the terrorists as well as the police who carry out the human rights abuses.
  • The sort of police state a country can degenerate to is terrifying.
  • If democracy fails verily the state can degenerate to a fascist state.
  • What you speak, what you eat, what you wear, what you see if the state dictates then it is the most scary thing.
  • A sort of Gestapo who can arrest you at will and interrogate you and execute you and then incinerate you leaving no trace.
  • That is terrifying.

Aim of Demonetisation

  • In this 2nd Anniversary of demonetistion I will like to point out "Aim of Demonetisation"
  • The aim of demonetisation was NEVER REALLY TO MAKE A SHORTFALL OF THE MONEY COMING INTO BANKS"
  • The aim was whatever the shortfall, the BJP Govt will make the "SHORTFALL WITH THE NEW NOTES"
  • The aim of BJP Govt was never that 80% of money came back, so let us brand the 20% which did not come back to the bank as "black money" and use it to cover up the losses of banks or use the funds for the country's development.
  • The opposition parties also thought that...initially.
  • Govt. will use the shortfall to write off bad debts of big corporates.
  • But that was never the aim of this BJP Govt.
  • Their aim was to use the shortfall to use notes to make up the shortfall.
  • Even if 70-80% of the notes came back, who is checking that...The Govt claimed that 99.3% of the notes returned.
  • Which means the 20-30% of notes amounting to lakhs of crores went to the hands of BJP and their friends which are mainly big businesses and corporates.
  • Nobody counted how much notes came back.
  • It is a logistical nightmare.
  • What must have happened, the old notes went straight to incinerator. Nobody ever counted them.
  • Basically that was the reason for introducing the 2000 Rupees note, so that will make the job easier.
  • Even outsiders who wanted to exchange were allowed at a commission, the commission which went to BJP pockets.
  • Example, suppose someone from Samajwadi Party wanted to exchange the old notes with new notes that could only happen through an intermediary who usually would be a BJP affiliated person at high perhaps 60 or 50% commission.
  • Means you give 50 lakhs of old notes and get 30 lakhs in new notes and 20 lakhs went to BJP or their affiliated person as commission.
  • Lakhs of crores were minted this way.
  • And BJP has made enough money to last seven generations.
  • That is the harsh reality of demonetisation.
  • It was never the intention of BJP to get a "shortfall".
  • A shortfall if there was any was made up with new artificial money using the Govt tool of RBI which went to BJP or their affiliated persons accounts (official or unofficial).
  • It is the biggest heist of the century perhaps.
  • Even if it is repeated again the windfall made by BJP in November 2016 can never ever be matched.
  • India is known as "Golden bird" or "Sone ki Chidiya" for this reason alone.
  • What the unofficial aim of demonetisation was that was achieved. To make new money from old money even if that money never came back.

Sacred Games

Watched the series Sacred Games on Netflix.
  • I liked the series.
  • I will see a Brahmin team has made the series.
  • I mean surely Anurag Kashyap and others behind Phantom Films are upper caste Brahmins.
  • And the underlying phrase "Sirf Trivedi Bachega" and Trivedi is UP Brahmin.
  • But the series is not pro-Hindu.
  • I feel the underlying theme in the movie is "Hindu terror".
  • That is why the cop is shown to be a Sardarji.
  • They could have made the hero as Christian but it would not be acceptable to the people who made the series as they are "Upper Caste Brahmins"
  • They could not have made the hero Muslim as it would be unacceptable to the viewers as well as the storyline. Because the essence of the story is Hindu vs Muslim. Or Hindu vs Abrahamic religions. Among Abrahamic religions, Islam is the most prominent in the sub continent and hence Hindu vs Muslim.
  • So they chose the middle path and that is the religion which came out of confluence of Hindu and Muslim and that is Sikhism.
  • And so Saif Ali Khan character is the hero and is Sikh or Sardarji.
  • They have left the series incomplete.
  • But I can know where it is headed.
  • I know it is a wet dream for Maharshtrian hardline Hindu fanatics to destroy Mumbai or Bombay. Then they want to build a "New Mumbai" or "naya Bambai".
  • I was there in Mumbai from 1998 to 2001 and I have seen the same when two hardliners were talking to a North Indian panwala in Flora Fountain area about the same thing in 1999 when the Kargil war happened and ended. "Naya Bambai banayenge" was what I had heard which will happen if there is a nuclear war between India and Pakistan.
  • These hardline Hindu fanatics from Maharashtra see Mumbai or Bombai as a "British city", a city with the legacy of British rule.
  • They see Mumbai the land reclaimed from the sea which did not exist in its present form 200 years ago.
  • And when British left people from rest of India took over the city.
  • These hardline Hindu fanatics from Maharshtra cannot digest Bombay being ruled by outsiders like Christians, Parsis, Iranians, South Indians, Rajasthanis, North Indians, Gujaratis, etc.
  • Hence solution for them is a nuclear disaster or attack and Bombay gets obliterated from the earth.
  • Same thing is shown in the series Sacred Games.
  • In last episode they have shown Hindu hardliners have amassed tons of weapons which will be used to unleash a Civil War like situation which is essentially the majority community Hindus unleashing themselves on minority community i.e. Muslims after Mumbai is destroyed.
  • That is why Trivedi is in a bunker with all facilities and will survive the nuclear or perhaps chemical attack. And gas masks are shown. The bunker is much like a Cold War bunker which people made to survive the "nuclear winter".
  • That is where the series is headed.

Anari

  • Watched the above movie after downloading on Tata Sky Video-on-Demand service.
  • Yes people I bought a Tata Sky Video on Demand HD + Transfer Box.
  • With the box I can record shows and movies.
  • I can watch another channel while recording one channel.
  • There is only one wire attached to the box.
  • I used to think that there would be required two wires at the back for carrying the signal.
  • But maybe that was the earlier box.
  • With the box which I have now, there is only one wire.
  • Also I can download movies and shows using the home Wifi.
  • So Anari movie I downloaded and watched.
  • This 1959 movie of Raj Kapoor is relevant even today.
  • How people do not care if people live or die for making money.
  • Disaster means more profit for them and they become greedy.
  • Also the villian keeps chanting "Hari Om Tat Sat" but still wants disease to spread and so will make money out of selling medicines.
  • When another medicine which looks exactly the same but actually is poison enters teh market they do not recall and tragedy happens.
  • That is the story. Worth watching the movie.
  • But the owner of medicine factory has change of heart and accepts his fault in the end and that makes the difference.
