The Least of These

• This movie was watched at PVR Forum Mall.
• I liked the movie.
• Movie deals with Graham Staines Story who was murdered in Odisha in 1999.
• I am from Odisha and I felt guilty of this crime also.
• Due to crimes like this people are unable to lead comfortable lives because the will feel at least a little bit guilty in their hearts.
• The ordinary people from the state cannot be happy if incidents like this happen.
• They will feel it as a blot on their society and will question their very souls.
• It was 1999 and Janaki Ballav Pattnaik of Congress was CM.
• Following that incident Kargil War happened in India and Super Cylcone happened in Odisha and BJD Govt came into power in Odisha.
• It is different that for 10 years BJP and BJD were together.
• It is said that Bajrang Dal which came from the flock of RSS BJP combine was responsible for the killing.
• The movie highlights every tiny bit of the incident.
• Sharman Joshi is a journalist but you can say he is the face of every common Indian in the movie.
• Common Indian will condone such violence.
• Especially the way Staines was murdered and his two boys as well and they were not allowed to escape.
• Staines was actually part of an organisation which had been working in Mayrbhanj district for more than 100 years with the permission of erstwhile King of Mayurbhanj.
• He had been personally in the region for more than 35 years when he was killed.
• He could speak fluent Odia.
• He used to work with lepers kind of people who were simply rejected by their villagers and families.
• He was doing Holy work, Gods work kind of work nobody would be willing to do and was not into conversions.
• In the movie, after his death, our journalist goes through a lot of files and documents but does not get any proof of "forced conversion".
• If any conversion he came across it was from "diseased to normal".
• The very boss Sharman Joshi was working for had disowned his father and villagers had done his "mock cremation" and he tells in end that he had never converted.
• The father of the boss only goes closer to God and is that wrong he asks Joshi.
• In another scene, our hero lands in village where he is defending a lady who has converted. Her mother is Christian whereas her father is Hindu.
• And villagers begin to target the hero. So to save himself he begins to blame Staines and gang for the same and saves himself especially because he has a wife and new born baby girl to care for.
• And the same spark becomes the fire which kills Staines.
• It was really unfortunate incident. As in India the guests are treated as Gods.
• And Staines was more than a guest. To many people he was like a God.
• It could be the bigger picture where the foreigners were belittled by the Indian society as a whole.
• This incident showed that India could "take back" what it its own.
• Even the diseases like leprosy.
• The Govt is there to look after the people. 
• Indians don't need the foreigners and especially people who are from faith different from Hindu.
• It is very bad because what I believe no one can convert to Hindu. 
• Hinduism is not like other religions.
• Only one who was Hindu earlier and converted to other religion can "come back" to the faith what is known as "Ghar Wapsi" or "return to home".
• If Hindus don't allow outsiders they will very very isolated.
• The incident is shameful and more I think about it and dwell on it fills me with depression. 
• But at the same time we realise that the underlying message is outsiders need to acknowledge the power of Indians or Hindus.
• The Hindus will not get eliminated like American Indians or the Aborigines of Australia.
• They are more like Africans who will bounce back and take back what belongs to them.
• It is a message and needs to be read between the lines.

• This movie was watched at PVR Forum Mall.
• I liked the movie.
• The hero and heroine have done great roles.
• In the end scene where the son pulls a gun against the father is real intense.
• And when a kid who enters the border gets blown due to land mine is also great.
• And it is thanks to the direction.
• Worth watching according to me.

Shazam

• This movie was watched at Srinivasa Theatre, SG Palya.
• I liked the movie.
• The movie destroys the "institution of family" as we know it.
• But it shows anyone can be your family or rather replacement family.
• So we can say this is a "Sunni" movie or "Irish Catholic" movie and not Shia movie.
• Several movies have come in India as well where the hero an orphan, a rag-picker or small homeless person grows up to be "Goonda" or so on. 
• But the ground reality is in India the institution of family is very strong mainly due to the fact that you need a "home" to stay and achieve anything.
• But the movie when the heroes friends become wizards is too good and at that moment we know the villain does not have a chance. 
• Even though the villain has seven deadly sins as his allies.
• It is worth watching according to me.

Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota

• This movie was watched at PVR Forum Mall.
• I liked the movie.
• But the movie is disjoint with reality.
• It is more close to 1970's or 80's Chinese Kung Fu movies.
• It has the potential to become a "cult classic"
• Though the title shows "Mard" actually the heroine in the movie also does a lot of action.
• The heroine is like a hero.
• And our hero is not a superhero. He is ordinary human who does not feel pain.
• And he trains in martial arts.
• Okay for watching I guess.

Compliance

• This movie was watched on Hotstar.
• I liked the movie.
• But the movie seems unbelievable.
• But it is actually based on what has happened in reality.
• And that is why it is unbelievable.
• How a person pretending to be a cop can blackmail based on telephone call and make people do things which are horrible.
• It dis not come with the job profile.
• Worth watching I felt.
• But highly unlikely that it would happen.
• If it happens the manager should be held accountable I feel as the employees will only do what the manager tells them to do.

Shoes which Bite

• This blogpost is dedicated to the humble shoe.
• Yes people the very device which protects our feet while we go around in the world.
•  I want to appreciate some shoes which never "depreciate".
• By depreciate I mean they put up a tough fight against the elements.
• Inside the shoe they may get "depressed" means they may adjust according to the feet size.
• But outside they appear "indestructible".
• Only way to get rid of these shoes is by "throwing them away".
• It is painful but has to be done anyways.
• Recently I got rid of my 9 year old leather shoe.
• From outside it was very good or appeared good.
• Its sole had come off which I got stitched with a cobbler.
• And then it was as good as new.
• The sole was also good with no visible sign of cracks.
• But my feet felt the pinch.
• My tiny finger in the feet began hurting and that was a sign.
• It was a sign to get rid of the shoe.
• Inspite of the pain of getting rid of something which appeared normal, I took tough decision and got rid of the shoe.
• At the other end of the spectrum are shoes which give way and crack under pressure and develop cracks.
• It is a sure shot sign to get rid of the shoe.
• We may say that the shoe did not last and is a waste of money.
• But if you look at it maybe it is better if the shoe cracks and buckles under pressure and it means you can get a new shoe for yourself.
• Earlier also I have had sandals plus sports shoe which were "indestructible".
• And only way to get rid of them was to throw them.
• The sandal was good from outside but was "pressed down" according to the contours of the feet and that is not good. 
• For the entire leg including the knee joint such kind of shoes give rise to a variety of pains which is bad.
• The sports shoe I had was also indestructible in the sense that though its sole came off there was still the basic structure of the shoe intact. And you could use it.
• But inside he show the portion was "pressed down" and that is bad.
• And so you have to get rid of it.

• This 3D movie was watched at Srinivasa theatre, SG palya.
• I liked the movie.
• Special effects are simply out of mind.
• So many dragons are shown in the movie and way they fly it is just amazing.
• One has to watch it to enjoy it.

• This movie was watched at Balaji theatre, Tavarakere
• I liked the movie.
• I had also seen the KRK review and I agree with his points
• KRK Review of Kesari
• Parineeti Chopra looks really like an old woman in the movie.
• The depiction of Pathans is really wrong as they have fought all over the Indian subcontinent even under Hindu Kings
• Fight scenes are better shown than Padmavat and Bajirao mastani
• The movie may not be liked by Indian audience who are mainly Hindus as there is difference between Hindu and Sikh. 
• Watch this movie if you want to see the valor of young fighting men of Sikh regiment
• And so on better watch KRK review for more
• And if you see my views I feel movie is well made and I will outline few points what I can remember
• The lady rescued by Akshay kumar in the beginning happens to offer a sweet later to him. She tells him those came from "Witch mountain" where she found refuge and verily we can assume it to be so. As that power of witch goes to Akshay Kumar and he is able to kill so many invaders. Witch is inherently capable of such evil. Or so is believed.
• There was no need to show that the soldiers build Masjids and then kill dozens of Pathans. "Thou shall not kill" has to be the ultimate truth before anything else.
• I have read few historical articles and some amount of accuracy may be there in the movie like below:
• 21 Sikhs held on to the fort till evening and next day British came with Artillery and bombed the Fort which the Afghans thought they would be able to conquer in half hour.
• We cannot be sure of casualties, how many died battling the Sikhs and how many died in subsequent shelling from a distance the next day.
• Did the Afghans manage to carry bodies while escaping when the fort was recaptured by the British, we will never know. But the body count exceeded 600.
• The 19 year old Sikh soldier in the end managed to kill 20 or more Pathans and that has been shown in the movie though maybe not in a dramatic way as shown in the movie where he is on fire and explodes the gun powder.
• The Kingdom of Punjab which was founded by Maharaja Ranjit Singh the same became British territory following Anglo-Sikh War. And the same forts and borders remained as British India which subsequently became Pakistan. Thus the present territory of Pakistan owes a lot to the fighting British Army pre independence including the Sikhs.
• And Akshay Kumar is fighting for freedom that may or may not be true in what happened in history but truth is now freedom for Sikhs can only mean an independent "Khalistan" which may not become reality and here we are reminded of Indira Gandhi and Operation Bluestar which was a massive effort to keep India united.
• I simply loved the enemy sniper shown in the movie. That character shown is too good.
• Personally I never knew the value of the Sikh turban. I had read an article about 25 years ago where police simply shaved the hair and made bald of some Sikh truck driver and I thought it as a joke but after watching this movie I now have got respect for the Turban. The scene where Akshay Kumar appeals to his killers to do whatever they want to him but nothing to the turban. I personally during the movie just prayed to God that forgive me if I have ever disrespected the turban in any way. That was due to my being innocent and ignorant.
• That is it I guess, in case I get any more points I will update it.
• Added: 4th April 2019
• The story of the way a soldier has joined the Army because of the good quality of shoes and which he would ultimately give to his father is real. I feel I have heard it before. I could relate to it.
• The way Sikh religion does not believe in Caste system is also shown by a soldier who has his own story to tell

• I liked the movie.
• This movie has a message and that is no matter what you should never contemplate suicide.
• The "Campa Cola" story shown in the movie the way the Parsee old man Sodabottleopenerwala is still making Campa Cola in his makeshift factory by hand is a story.
• The movie shows that even if you do suicide you still cannot escape as you become a "ghost" like Tiwari shown in the movie.
• And the message is "just do it" means do what your heart pleases like shown in the case of heroine of the movie.
• Overall worth watching once if not more

• I liked the movie.
• How a girls and her mothers imagination makes a "Wonedrland Amusement park" work.
• And when it stops due to medical treatment of the mother when the girl discards her thoughts.
• It is worth watching I felt.

• This movie was watched at PVR, Forum Mall.
• I liked the movie.
• Basically this movie deals with the "disappeared" persons in Kashmir.
• You may die either through militant attacks or security forces attack or in police custody.
• Being dead is okay I feel looking at the ground situation at least there is "closure" to the case.
• But the problem is if you end up injured (that has not been shown in the movie) or "missing".
• If you end up "missing" then there is a big problem.
• Family members will not know if you're dead or gone "beyond the mountains"
• The heart of Kashmir as we know is a valley and is known as "Valley of Kashmir" and has been said that it is "Paradise on Earth" as it is surrounded by mountains very tall mountains on both sides and gives heavenly feeling

• This movie is worth watching. How Paradise on Earth has been ruined by politics.
• No amount of tears can make up for what has been lost.

Captain Marvel, Badla

Captain Marvel

• This movie was watched at Sandhya theatre, Madivala
• I liked the movie.
• Thanks to special effects and latest lines of thought Captain Marvel appears to be more powerful than any other superhero, I was inclined to compare with Superman
• I will say that Captain Marvel appears to be more powerful than Superman.
• But recently The Avengers Endgame trailer got released and it doesn't look like Captain Marvel would be able to reverse what Thanos had done in Avengers Infinity War movie.
• We saw Samuele L Jackson theatre paging Captain Marvel number towards the end of the Infinity movie.
• But the blue cube does fall out of the Cat's mouth, let us see what Marvel does.
• I may feel they may go any way.
• They may "restore" all the superheroes as the future of the franchise would depend on it I feel.
• The one projected as villian in this movie the "shapeshifters" are actually victims as is shown in the movie.
• Overall the movie promotes "incluvisity" and diversity.
• Not to discriminate against anyone due to "what they are".
• All have equal right in the universe is shown.

Badla

• This movie was watched at PVR Vega City Mall.
• I liked the movie.
• Big Spoiler Next :
• Amitabh Bachchan is NOT in the movie.
• But one person puts his "face mask" like we see in Mission impossible movie.
• And what I felt this is what the audience would not have liked.
• Rather they should have shown Amitabh Bachchan as a "real person" and should have linked his character to Amrita Singh like "brother or father".
• That would have been better.
• And since he is a relative and thus helps her in getting the "Badla".
• In this movie "Badla" does not mean revenge but is "justice".
