Cricket vs Football vs Hockey vs Wrestling
- Hockey World Cup was held in Bhubaneswar in 2018.
- At that time itself I wanted to post something like this.
- According to me, Hockey is a violent game.
- Players come "armed" with hockey sticks.
- Though there are strict rules but the very nature is disturbing.
- Once the match commences, it may not appear that violent but that is another story.
- Now football is the most glorious game.
- Football is most popular in Europe which has seen the horrors of war in First World War and Second World War.
- What was needed was a game which is total "anti-thesis" of war.
- No hands are used and players are "unarmed", those who assault are thrown out after warning (Red card and yellow Card)
- Also violent countries of South America and Middle East and Africa also have Football as the most popular game.
- Football as a game is also very easy to play.
- Just a ground and football and you're on.
- Now cricket is a complex game.
- Cricket involves batsman and bowlers and fielders.
- The act of getting out in cricket is like "death in real life".
- And one who plays well at the crease is 'successful in life'.
- One who also gets a wicket is also successful.
- And the team works to defeat the opposition.
- It is like a mini war.
- And test matches are actually "test of endurance".
- Compared to football outcome comes in 90 minutes of play.
- Hockey outcome comes in 60 minutes.
- A "test match" in cricket can last for days.
- Cricket game also comes with their own set of "armed and unarmed" people.
- Batsman are 'armed' with bat and covered with protective gear. Bowler has a "ball" like "grenade which does not explode".
- And fielders are unarmed.
- Wrestling involves individual feat of endurance and physical strength and agility.
- And there is also "tag team" and "triple teams" in professional wrestling.
- After analysing as above, I must conclude that each game has its own merits and demerits and no game can be criticised as such.
- When I began writing this post my intention was to prove football is the best.
- But now I am not so sure.
- All the games have their own fan following and can be enjoyed by their die-hard fans.
- And people can love all the games also or two games or three games.
