- Watched Tanhaji The Unsung Warrior movie on Prime Video.
- I liked the movie.
- The main point in the movie is that you cannot rule a country or area from an elevated position.
- In the movie "The Rock" (1996) there is a scene where the Captain says to another that the other Captain's unit is covered from an elevated position and so they had an advantage. But this movie proved otherwise mainly due to use of tricks, ingenuity, bravery and sacrifice.
- To rule have to come to the people level and then claim for rule.
- You may be rejected but then that is the way it is.
- People will choose their rulers.
- Rulers who are just and do not loot them and tax them or steal from them through taxes and the like.
- But the fact is wars are a drain on the economy.
- And to fund wars you need money and that is how you tax your own people.
- It is like asking them to contribute to the war effort.
- Regarding the movie it portrays the Marathas as brave people who can do anything to gain "own rule" or "Swaraj".
- I had read somewhere that Saif Ali Khan found the shooting to be too technocool and as he had to go through a lot of pain white making the film "Laal Kaptaan" which was as realistic as it could get, he found the use of special effects too good and don't need to "stretch yourself" (like for example making sets or bringing real horses) by visiting far away locations and spending months outdoors and stuff.
