Joram, Killer Book, Nowhere, Leave The

Watched four movies as mentioned above.

Joram

  • This movie was watched on the big screen.
  • Nice movie.
  • It shows a conflict and it is very much like Israel-Palestine conflict.
  • This conflict is very much similar and that is like fight between indigenous people and invaders from more progressive society who want to destroy forests for development and exploitation of resources.
  • The tribals just happen to be on the way.
  • Worth watching.

Killer Book Club

  • This Spanish movie in English was watched on Netflix.
  • Worth watching.
  • It is like "Scream" series but I guess this is a standalone movie with great performances by the actors.

Nowhere

  • This is also a Spanish movie was watched on English language on Netflix.
  • It is too good movie which shows a dystopian world where people are killed because of lack of availability of materials including food and water.
  • So some people think of abandoning their lands and fleeing to foreign shores like Ireland and Norway.
  • The pregnant woman makes a journey alone through the ocean and drifts in a container and even gives birth to a daughter.
  • The women resembles a lot to Anupama serial heroine i.e. Rupali Ganguli and that makes it like watching an Indian movie.
  • But they have shown child birth and lactating woman and hence A+ certificate.

Leave The World Behind

  • This movie was watched on Netflix.
  • Producers are ex President Obama and his wife.
  • This does not show supernatural events but shows how society descends into chaos and civil war slowly but surely.
  • Civil war is preceded by crippling cyber attacks and destruction of society.
  • People do not trust each other and so on.
  • Those who do not prepare themselves are left in the lurch.

Dirilis Ertugrul, Kurulus Osman

Dirilis Ertugrul : Season 5

  • Last I had watched till Episode 145
  • Finally I completed the entire Ertugrul series with 5 seasons.
  • This series is to Turks as Ramayana and Mahabharata aired in Doordarshan in late 1980's is to Indians.
  • When Ramayana and later Mahabharata got aired in India, streets used to get deserted and people never used to miss the airing of the episodes.
  • Similarly for Ertugrul in Turkey.
  • I first got to watch it after Pakistani PM Imran Khan recommended it to the world during first phase of Covid in 2020. Link 1
  • I started watching Ertugrul Season 1 since June 29, 2020.
  • And I completed yesterday i.e. December, 14, 2023 so it took little less than 3 and half years for me to complete the series.
  • I do not regret watching the series.
  • I enjoyed it and in fact when I was watching last episode I got kind of sad that it would get over.
  • Coming back to the series from Episode 146 to 150, they do not show the Western front (i.e the remnants of the Byzantine empire) of Turkish mainland.
  • They show only internal Turkish struggle and the struggle with Mongols in those last five episodes.
  • New Mongol villian Arkbukka is introduced.
  • And series ends with a positive note.
  • I started Season 1 with watching on Youtube.
  • Then I watched on Netflix till Season 4.
  • Season 5 I started watching then first Netflix removed Season 5 from its catalogue.
  • Then on March 31, 2023 Netflix removed entire series from its server.
  • So I found other ways to watch it.

Kurulus Osman Season 1 - Episode 1

  • Immediately after Ertugrul series ended I started with Kurulus Osman first episode.
  • I can say the quality of filming of Kurulus Osman is far superior to Dirilis Ertugrul.
  • They have used super HD camera and tiny details like even droplets of water when the horse crosses streams becomes visible.
  • They have shown several mountains, streams, rivers, forests and even sea in Dirilis Ertugrul but they never showed a snow capped mountain but now in very first episode of Kurulus Osman they have shown it.
  • Horse battles shown in Episode 1 is like never seen before.
  • It exceeds all horse battles shown in entire 5 seasons of Dirilis Ertugrul.
  • As I see now, more than 139 episodes have already been aired of Kurulus Osman.
  • I have started with Episode 1 and hopefully it will not take 3 years to watch those 140 episodes.
  • I hope to complete or "catch up" early.

Drop of Semen

  • People we have heard that a drop of semen is equal to 100 drops of blood.
  • As we age we can realise that it is true.
  • As we age we suffer from diseases and get dependent on medication.
  • When we discharge semen we get weak.
  • The body works overtime to restore the semen "lost".
  • Semen production requires a lot of components.
  • One component is collected from joints and tendons.
  • So joints and tendons become weak.
  • And this leads to Arthritis and joint pains.
  • The body will do its duty.
  • The body will replenish the stock of semen "lost" or discharged.
  • This process is automatic and we can do little about it.
  • So the thing is if you want to save yourself from joint pains and maintain flexibility is not to discharge any semen as you age.
  • We are aware that during young age we can discharge a lot of semen and not get affected by it.
  • We can discharge almost everyday.
  • But as we age the frequency keeps reducing and then it comes to stage that even if we discharge semen once a month it becomes too much.
  • Also we may discharge without getting erection.
  • That is common as we age.
  • This is applicable to males mind you.
  • Physiology of females is entirely different.
  • But females do get to the stage of menopause where they stop having periods.
  • I guess men also go through "menopause" and that is how their ability to discharge semen reduces.
  • And they can do "severe body harm" if they keep discharging semen as they age.
  • This severe body harm includes body pain, joint pain, frozen shoulder and so on.
  • Men (and women) can keep donationg blood upto 60 or 65 once every three or four months.
  • But discharging semen will leave them weak.
  • And hence the saying goes one drop of semen equals hundred drops of blood.
  • The truth is no one knows how many drops of blood equals a drop of semen.
  • It may differ from person to person.
  • Even among races it may differ.
  • Just think about it.
  • It might just be true.

Archies, Ertugrul, Wonka, Speech, AHS

Watched above movies as mentioned.

The Archies

  • This movie was watched on Netflix.
  • I must say tremendous effort to recreate 1964 post Independence Riverdale in India
  • Riverdale originally from United States.
  • Now the makers could have made little more effort and made songs in English as well.
  • I saw the English language version and somehow the Hindi songs felt out of place.
  • But I can say that students from metros in India may resemble Riverdale students in lot more ways than we can imagine.
  • There is a dialogue in the movie "Englishmen owe Indians a lot" but that dialogue should have been "Englishmen OWN Indians a lot"
  • The setting shown is like Military history espoused by British Indians shown in Pippa or Sam Bahadur where before deployment they get together and so on.

Ertugrul : Season 5, Episode 141 to 145

  • Last I had seen was till Episode 140
  • But now I have decided to complete the series Season 5 once and for all.
  • So many people get eliminated in these four episodes.
  • Dragos, Uranos, Alincak to name a few.
  • Definitely worth watching.

Wonka

  • This movie was watched on the big screen.
  • This movie is definitely worth watching for the "feel good" factor.
  • Sequel might come and grounds laid for the same.

The Speech

  • This French movie was watched on Bookmyshow Stream
  • Too good movie.
  • It is a bit like monologue with focus on the main actor.
  • And that is the USP of the movie.

AHS Season 10, Episode 7 to 10

  • American Horror Story Season 10 first six episodes dealt with winter season in New England of United States and it was closed.
  • Now Season 10 last four episodes deal with another area of United States and subject as well.
  • It shows how Aliens made a deal with President Dwight Eisenhower to supply with endless technology in return for a place to stay and conduct experiments on 3000 Americans annually.
  • Actually they want to create a species which would be a cross between the Aliens and humans and can survive on Earth.
  • These four episodes show more than any movie can show.
  • They show Reptilians (humans with reptile characteristics) already inhabiting Earth.
  • Moon landing was fake is shown.
  • The Aliens came in 1950s and they do manage to create the perfect "new species" and that is shown in the Series.
  • The Aliens then want to eliminate the humans. Reptilians are acceptable but humans are not.

Sam Bahadur, All Aboard, Pippa, Trip to Greece

Watched four movies as mentioned above.

Sam Bahadur

  • This movie was watched on the big screen.
  • I liked the movie.
  • Facts which can be deduced from the movie
    • Bahadur was like a honorific surname as he was part of Gurkha (Nepal) regiment (Bahadur is common surname amongst Nepalis).
    • Sam decided the date when India Pakistan war would happen and that is December 3.
    • He gave two chits to Mrs Gandhi which had the details.
    • Sam also decided what would be broadcasted on the radio by Mrs Indira Gandhi.
    • Sam just needed the time to make Indian Army "get ready"
    • It also means that Pakistan might never have targeted 12 airfields across North India as was accused of in the first place.
    • It could have been a "false/fake news" and based on that India wages war.
    • Based on the news in 13 days the war was over and Bangladesh emerged.
    • Though he retired in 1973 he led a quiet life till his passing away in 2008.
  • Worth watching this movie

All Aboard

  • This French movie was watched on Bookmyshow stream.
  • A fun adventure movie where elders lose sight of the young and the young "have a blast" across several hundred miles in train journey.
  • Worth watching this movie.

Pippa

  • This 1971 war movie was seen in Amazon Prime Video.
  • Too good war scenes and worth watching.
  • Sam Manekshaw is also in the movie.
  • He requests Mrs Gandhi to do military operation 10 kms inside East Pakistan unofficially and that makes Yahya Khan go crazy and he attacks India officially.
  • So that makes Pakistan guilty in the eyes of the world and India attacks with full force.
  • It stops like suggesting that there was fake news involved.
  • Worth watching.

Trip to Greece

  • This movie seems like final instalment or Part 4 of "The Trip" series starring Steven Coogan and Rab Brydon.
  • Well made and shows the beauty of Greece, blue skies, green forests, emerald and blue seas.
  • Worth watching.

Hunger Games, Napoleon, Railwaymen

Watched three movies as mentioned above

Hunger Games : Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes

  • Watched this movie on the big screen.
  • I liked the movie.
  • Movie is divided into three chapters.
  • Each chapter leads us to different outcomes.

Napoleon

  • This historical movie was watched on the big screen.
  • I felt this movie is great effort but it is lacking something.
  • I do not know what.
  • But is okay for getting a "crash course" on French and Napoleon history.
  • Okay for watching once.

The Railwaymen

  • This four part limited series was watched on Netflix.
  • It is based on 1984 Bhopal gas leak case of Union Carbide.
  • I remembered "Bhopal Express" movie starring same Kaykay Menon which was released in 1999.
  • Same Kaykey Menon is in this movie.
  • Too good is the last episode where they show the actual photographs with the ones they recreated.
  • They show things in such a manner that you feel you are actually there in Bhopal in 1984.
  • Also in Bhopal Express 1999 movie they have shown difference between India and America.
  • India shown in ground level and America in boardroom with suit and tie.
  • India in Hindi and America in English. That is in 1999 movie.
  • In this movie before the starting titles they show some scene related to the gas Methyl Isocyanite or to the gas leak. That two or three minute clip is too good.

Trip to Italy, Trip to Spain, Leo

Watched three movies as mentioned above

Trip to Italy

  • This 2013 movie was watched on Bookmyshow stream.
  • It is too good movie as it takes the movie out of England into Italy, i.e. foreign shores.
  • As you may be knowing both Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon are very good impersonators and it makes it worth watching.

Trip to Spain

  • This 2017 movie was watched on Bookmyshow stream.
  • Rob and Steve continue their adventures and we get to be part of them.
  • Worth watching I would say.

Leo

  • This movie was watched on Netflix.
  • Too good movie mainly due to performance of Thalapathy Vijay.
  • He is the true star of the movie (and the hyena of course).
  • The background music is too good.
  • Thalapathy Vijay achieves so much in the movie it is just unbelievable.
  • Worth watching.

Through the Glass Darkly, Scumbag

Watched the above two movies.

Through the Glass Darkly

  • Thus American movie was watched on Bookmyshow stream.
  • This movie is remarkable because it shows a story from 1997 which has relation to story in 1967.
  • In fact the protagonist feels 43 years old when she is actually 73.
  • She cannot escape 1967 due to "her mind".
  • It is just amazing movie because it links three decades and we see how close 1967 was to 1997 when it is 2023 now and 2023 is still further away.

Scumbag

  • This Slovakia movie was watched on Bookmyshow stream.
  • This movie shows corruption, gangs, drugs and using underage girls from State institutions just spoil the political environment in the country.
  • Great movie.
  • It shows a side of story which may be common to many countries but few filmmakers from those countries would have the spine to show this.
  • Slovak movie is eye opener in that sense.

Tiger 3, The Trip, Unskeen Skies

Watched three movies as mentioned above.

Tiger 3

  • This movie was watched on the big screen.
  • This movie actually wanted to be set in India but that would not be possible.
  • I mean seeing Indian nuclear codes compromised and coup happening in India and Indian PM being arrested and deposed is just unbelievable.
  • Thus the makers made the story based in Pakistan but staffed with Indian actors.
  • And Tiger and Zoya save the day.
  • It is okay for a one time watch.

The Trip

  • This 2010 movie stars Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon.
  • This was watched on Bookmyshow stream.
  • Worth watching.
  • Just watch it to get a big dose of British laughter and conversation.
  • There are subsequent sequels as well and will watch soon.

Unskeen Skies

  • This movie is a must watch.
  • It is like a documentary movie about everything related to space and satellites.
  • Here a person is shown who wants to launch small satellites and deploy balloon.
  • In the process a lot is covered.
  • Starting from Surveillance state, to foreign bases and secret bases, post 9-11 world, Afghanistan, secret technologies and so on.
  • In fact it covers anything modern man which means America has achieved in terms of space and satellites.
  • This movie ends when Covid pandemic starts i.e. in early 2020.
  • Worth watching.

Monday, 13 November 2023

Taylor Swift, Breaking Surface, The Tunnel

Watched three movies as mentioned above.

Taylor Swift : The Eras Tour

  • Watched this rock show of Taylor Swift, arguably the worlds biggest star on the big screen.
  • This is the documentary aka live performance from her LA Concert.
  • Worth watching.
  • Too good songs and performance.

Breaking Surface

  • Watched this Swedish language movie on Bookmyshow stream.
  • Worth watching.
  • Claustrophobic feeling people should not watch it.
  • But I liked the movie.

The Tunnel

  • This Norwegian movie was watched on Bookmyshow stream.
  • This is too good movie.
  • How dangers can crop up when you least expect it.
  • In this case it happens to emerge in one of the several hundreds of tunnels existing in Norway.
  • Worth watching for truly heroic efforts and you just do not know who will "fall" in the process.
  • People who "fall" will no doubt leave lasting memories with their colleagues and loved ones.
  • It could be comparable to PTSD.

Friday, 10 November 2023

12th Fail, Paw Patrol

Watched two more movies as mentioned above.

12th Fail

  • Watched this movie on the big screen.
  • Vikrant Massey has done excellent job.
  • This movie is worth watching once.

Paw Patrol : The Mighty Movie

  • This latest Paw Patrol movie was watched on the big screen.
  • It is too good.
  • Animation is real life like and worth watching.

UT 69, Killers of the Flower Moon, Aankh Micholi

Watched three movies as mentioned above.

UT 69

  • This movie was watched on the big screen.
  • It shows how Raj Kundra got to spend time in prison as an undertrial for 63 days.
  • I will say the movie may not be true, I doubt it.
  • I mean Raj Kundra would not have spent time in cell made for 45 people and actually housed 245 people. It is just unbelievable.
  • But what is believable is the fact that you feel you are actually there in prison in the middle of Mumbai city, in Arthur Road jail surrounded by sea in three sides.
  • The feeling of being in Mumbai, erstwhile Bombay city is real.
  • No prisoner is taller or as well built as Raj Kundra and that could be deliberate attempt.
  • Next is no foreigner or African is in the prison.
  • Actually there can be foreigners, this movie should be watched by foreigners.
  • They should know what an Indian prison is like.
  • And Mumbai could be the most "humane" city of India.
  • People of Mumbai can understand your problem and offer help.
  • Any other Indian city prisons could be worse.

Killers of the Flower Moon

  • This movie was watched on big screen.
  • This movie shows what has not been shown earlier.
  • Inter marriage between Whites and American Indians resulting in the American Indians killing and seizure of properties by Whites.
  • It just shows whites went to lengths to capture what was Indian territory and properties.
  • Worth watching.

Aankh Micholi

  • This comedy movie was watched on big screen.
  • This movie they have spent too much effort to highlight simple fact and that is the power of love.
  • I mean people sacrifice a lot of things in life to keep relationships alive.
  • They ignore people deficiencies and work together as a family.

While We Watched, Kompromat, Run Hide Fight

Watched three movies as mentioned above.

While We Watched

  • This documentary film was watched from PBS website.
  • This documents the life of NDTV Ravish Kumar as he carries out his day to day job of reporting during 2019 Elections and sometime before that.
  • This is one documentary BJP Govt does not want you to watch.
  • But is worthwhile watching.

Kompromat

  • This French movie was watched on Bookmyshow Stream.
  • It is worth because it shows Cold War like vibes in the present age.
  • What was KGB has become FSB and one comes in direct line of fire while in Russia.
  • I mean there is always the risk of being framed and put in Russian jails for 10-15 years.
  • Worth watching.

Run Hide Fight

  • This movie was watched on Bookmyshow stream.
  • This movie comes of the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave, United States of America.
  • This deals with school shooting.
  • Too good movie.
  • Feels real and as though you are in the place.
  • Many old actors like Thomas Jane and Radha Mitchell get to play senior roles in the movie and youngsters get the main roles.

Wednesday, 1 November 2023

Dono, Saw X, Khamosh, Thank You

Watched four movies as mentioned above.

Dono

  • This movie was watched on the big screen.
  • Both lead actors have done great job.
  • Rajvir Deol and Paloma I meant.
  • Both have potential to be big stars.
  • Movie is worth watching once.

Saw X

  • This movie was seen on the big screen.
  • This movie shows how doing evil things can get you killed.
  • Basically it absolves the Saw instigator of any wrong doings.
  • It shows that people who take advantage of other peoples weakness get to pay in the end.
  • It is a bit like Karma story.

Khamosh

  • This movie was watched on the big screen as part of the Vidhu Vinod Chopra film festival.
  • This is one of his early works.
  • Since VVC is from Kashmir this movie is shot in Kashmir.
  • Too good movie.
  • Google search shows that when this movie got released in 1984 there were no takers to screen this movie.
  • But now almost 40 years later this movie is like a cult classic.

Thank You for Coming

  • This movie was watched on the big screen.
  • Starring Bhoomi Pednekar this movie missed the scene of Swara Bhaskar vibrator scene from Veere Di Wedding.
  • One scene like the Swara Bhasker scene and the movie would have been complete.
  • Story is the same as how one should find pleasure oneself and not from partner.

Mission Ranigunj, Ganapath, The Creator

Watched three movies as mentioned above.

Mission Ranigunj

  • This movie was watched on the big screen.
  • This movie based on a real life story, chronicles the rescue attempt of Mr Gill
  • He personally saw to it that 30 plus miners are rescued safely from a coal mine collapse.
  • Worth watching this movie.

Ganapath

  • This movie was was watched on the big screen.
  • This movie shows a dystopian future and the important thing in the movie is the villian.
  • The villian portrayed by Tiger Shroff himself is shown to be like a "Djinn" who appears as a mist or perhaps is artificial intellegence.
  • The secret would be revealed in Part 2.

The Creator

  • This movie was watched on the big screen.
  • Here they have shown a geographical area called "new Asia" and it encompasses entire South East Asia and includes Eastern Himalayas which means North East India.
  • They have spent huge sums showing "world of the future".
  • And though nuclear device is detonated by A.I in Los Angeles towards the end they have shown LA with its ships going all the way to the moon.
  • Thus LA is better than it ever was and they have done it without AI and so they claim in the movie.
  •  AI is thus contained only in geographical entity called New Asia.
  • The West goes on without AI.
  • I wonder if that is possible.
  • I mean so much progress without AI or robotics is just not possible.

Tuesday, 3 October 2023

Fukrey 3, Rocky, Haunting

Watched three more movies as mentioned above.

Fukrey 3

  • This movie was watched on the big screen.
  • Movie is full of comedy and worth watching once.
  • It would help if you have watched Part 1 and 2 but it is not compulsory.

Rocky aur Rani ki Prem Kahani

  • This movie was watched on the big screen.
  • This is actually 2nd time I watched the movie.
  • Movie is full of entertainment with good songs and drama.
  • Worth watching at least once.
  • 2nd time may be watched for the acting and the performances plus to recollect how the sequence of events transpired.

A Haunting in Venice

  • This movie was watched on the big screen.
  • How the case was cracked by Hercule Poirot is shown in the movie.
  • It is a simple case but could only be solved by Hercule Poirot.
  • As initially the case appeared too complicated with supernatural elements as well.
  • Worth watching once.

Smugglers, Ertugrul, The Vaccine War

Watched three more content as mentioned above.

Smugglers

  • This South Korean movie was watched on big screen.
  • It is too good movie set in the 1970's before Korea became a manufacturing superpower.
  • It shows how small to big items were getting smuggled and movie is full of comedy and action scenes.
  • Movie is worth watching once.

Ertugrul Season 5 Episode 140

  • Last I had watched till Episode 139
  • This is too good series and each Episode packs a punch.
  • Will watch more episodes soon.

The Vaccine War

  • This movie was watched on the big screen.
  • Movie is too good and worth watching.
  • Mainly there are three "wars" shown in the movie.
  • First is the war between virus and the scientists and doctors.
  • Next is the war between misinformation and facts.
  • Third is the war between the vaccines itself.
  • Like between inactivated virus vaccine and mRNA vaccines.
  • Overall a good effort by the filmmakers and movie does not seem long or slow.
  • Probably because we have all lived through the Covid period and have actually seen things unfolding.
  • That is what they have shown in the movie.
  • Why mRNA vaccines were not introduced in India was shown without criticising the mRNA vaccines.
  • The director walks a fine line and shows "Confidential reports" for the same.

Great Indian, Heist of the, Nun 2

Watched three movies as mentioned above.

The Great Indian Family

  • Watched this movie on the big screen
  • When I first saw this movie trailer and poster and came to know about it, I wondered why it is named so.
  • Instead of the Great Indian family it could have been named as the Great "Bharatiya" family or simply as Bhajan Kumar which is the popular name of the hero.
  • But after watching this movie I came to know that since the movie is about communal harmony and people of all religions and castes living peacefully that is why it is named so.
  • "India" surmises that, any person who lives in India and calls it as his home becomes Indian.
  • Just like American or African.
  • Calling himself Bharatiya or Hindus or Hindustanis is not quite the same feeling.
  • I could get that.
  • The makers also deliberately wanted the people to know what was in  store for them.
  • They did not name it otherwise and could have faced more ridicule and charges of "being tricked".
  • Movie is okay for a one time watch.

Heist of the Century

  • This movie was watched partly on BookmyShow stream and partly on Amazon Prime video.
  • Movie is Argentinian and worth watching.
  • I suspect that the series "Money Heist" could be "inspired" by this movie.
  • It is a question of which came first.
  • Definitely this movie is worth watching once.

Nun 2

  • Watched this movie on the big screen.
  • Movie was okay for a one time watch.
  • It would be not much scary for a few that's what I felt.
  • I have not watched part 1 and hope to watch part 1 soon.
  • It is not essential that you watch Part 1 but it would be helpful.

Thursday, 14 September 2023

Jailer, Jawan, Equalizer

Watched three more movies as mentioned above.

Jailer

  • This movie was watched on Prime Video.
  • I liked the movie.
  • Movie though is serious movie is filled with several comedy moments and that makes it worthwhile.
  • Movie does not feel slow at all.

Jawan

  • This movie was watched on big screen.
  • This movie is superb direction.
  • It requires a south director. Certainly one from north could not have made a movie like this.
  • I mean a north director could have made a movie but it would have been different to what this is presently.
  • Basically the movie is like a high speed train and we get to see it or be a part of it.
  • And just like Jailer the movie "takes off" quite fast.
  • 10 minutes into the movie and the plot seems to have advanced quite fast.

Equalizer 3

  • This movie was watched on big screen.
  • Denzel Washington has become like death personified.
  • Denzel has become like Grim Reaper or Azrael.
  • I can't help but remember this song.
  • In that song the duck becomes like death personified.
  • Actually the director has got all the power.
  • Cinema is nothing but "make believe".
  • If he can convince you that what you're watching is true his job is done.

Monday, 4 September 2023

Ertugrul, Re/Member, Retribution

Watched three more movies as mentioned above.

Ertugrul Season 5 Episode 139

  • Last I had watched till Episode 136
  • The series proceeds and sad scene is encountered when Ertugrul's nephew is killed by Albasti who is nothing but Mongols agent.
  • There are basically 5 parties in the conflict, Mongols, other Turkish tribes, Ertugrul tribe, Remnants of Seljuks, Remnants of Byzantine Empire
  • The struggle for foothold in Anatolia or Asia Minor in Early Middle Ages is real.
  • Worth watching.

Re/Member

  • This Japanese movie was watched on Netflix.
  • I liked the movie.
  • The creature effects are too good.
  • The stars of the movie are condemned to repeat the story until they get the details right that is shown in the movie.

Retribution

  • This Liam Neeson starrer movie was watched on the big screen.
  • Too good action.
  • Movie would have been shot without much effort and time but still it is classic.
  • It is set in Berlin but it could have been set in any modern city.
  • Worth watching once.

Dreamgirl 2, Golda, Asteroid City

Watched three movies as mentioned above.

Dreamgirl 2

  • This movie was watched on the big screen.
  • Too good movie worth watching.
  • It is totally different from Dreamgirl first part.
  • All actors have done good roles.

Golda

  • This movie was watched on big screen.
  • Movie deals with Yom Kippur War which State of Israel was this close to getting lost.
  • But US saves the day by providing planes.
  • US also negotiates for peace and forecloses the involvement of USSR in the conflict.
  • That is the conflict which will ultimately lead to US and Arab world getting closer and closer and isolation of USSR was complete as US had already got Peoples Republic of China into its fold by rejecting Republic of China in 1972.
  • US lost Iran subsequently in 1979 but Afghanistan war got chance for US and Mujaheedin who came from all countries of the Muslim world including Arab world to come together again.
  • In view from Israel side, this led to largest country of Arab World namely Egypt giving it recognition and acceptance and that was good for the country of Israel for its future.

Asteroid City

  • This is a fictional account of a city in the desert.
  • The have shown Looney Toones Road Runner as well.
  • They have shown nuclear testing and Aliens as well.
  • This city can be like a utopian city in the desert like they have shown in Oppenheimer.
  • Or perhaps like cities built by colonial power Italy and France in Libya and Algeria respectively.
  • Movie is okay to be watched once.

Jurassic Park 3, Blue Beetle, Arrival

Watched three movies as mentioned above.

Jurassic Park 3

  • This 2001 movie was watched on Amazon Prime Video.
  • Worth watching.
  • This movie is earlier to Jurassic World movies.
  • The creatures are realistic and adventure is good.

Blue Beetle

  • This movie was watched on the big screen.
  • Too good special effects.
  • This is one movie which is better than what the trailer suggests I can definitely say that.

Arrival

  • Watched this movie on Amazon Prime Video.
  • Too good movie.
  • Shows how military will try to communicate with Alien craft whose purpose was that Earth's military talk to each other and avoid conflict.

Childe, Gran Turismo, Gadar 2, OMG 2

Watched fout movies as mentioned above

Childe

  • This South Korean movie was watched on big screen.
  • I liked the movie.
  • Nice acting and feels quite real.
  • It deals with people who are of mixed race, namely Philipino and Korean.
  • Worth watching once.

Gran Turismo

  • This movie was watched on big screen.
  • It deals with the story of a gamer who goes on to ride in racing cars for real.
  • Worth watching once.

Gadar 2

  • This sequel of 2001 movie Gadar has propelled Sunny Deol and his character Tara Singh to the galaxy of legends.
  • This character would b e remembered for generations to come.
  • Movie world is make believe but who can convince the viewers.
  • People have given their stamp of approval and that is what matters.
  • The story and character of Tara Singh is as true as it gets.
  • Worth watching once and it does not matter if you have watched Part 1 or not.

OMG 2

  • This movie is good movie. I watched on big screen.
  • Initially I felt that A certificate for this movie is wrong.
  • Now I feel the Censor Board did the right thing by giving it A Certificate.
  • If it was not A certificate, few people may have protested and created disruption and both Gadar and OMG would have got affected.
  • Now with A Certificate to OMG2, path was clear for one and all to go towards Gadar and that made it such a big hit.
  • This movie is not bad at all.
  • It deserves every single rupee it has earned and more.
  • While OMG 1 dealt with Narayana whose avatar are Krishna and Rama, this movie deals with Mahadev or Shiva.
  • The movie has dealt with the subject delicately and no where it brought out the fact that people worship Shiva Linga which is Phallus shaped deity representation.
  • Without mentioning this single fact, it has handled the subject through other facts and examples and that makes it perfect and must watch

Queen Mary, Ertugrul, Doctor Strange, AHS

Watched few movies as mentioned above

Queen Mary

  •  Watched this movie on big screen.
  • Queen Mary as name suggests is a historical ship which is anchored off Long Island in New York.
  • It is tourist attraction but more so because of its supposedly paranormal sightings.
  • I liked the movie.
  • Worth watching once.

Ertugrul : Episode 136

  • Last I had watched was Episode 135
  • The series proceeds as per plot.
  • Worth watching.

Doctor Strange : In a Multiverse of Madness

  • This movie was watched on Disney + Hotstar.
  • Liked the movie.
  • Especially how no one could deal with the Scarlet Witch and her terror could only end when she wanted it.
  • Worth watching,

American Horror Story : Red Tide

  • This is one powerful series consisting of six episodes.
  • Set in Winter months in New England and how it remains deserted and it is unlike what it is in summer.
  • But towards the end the series moves to that land of Hollywood California and ends abruptly.
  • Why I would say that it ends abruptly?
  • Because this is part of Season X i.e. 10 of American Horror story and there are ten episodes but they wrap it up in first six episodes and latter four episodes are something totally different.
  • There could be plot which ruffled quite a feathers as they saya nd hence probably they wrapped it up.
  • Or maybe they could not continue shooting in New England which is one area where people want to "preserve life the way it is".
  • The series probably discredited their area and so the makers had to wrap it up.
  • Or maybe summer moved in and as we saw in Jaws movie as well, towns in New England especially get flooded in by tourists from other places and population explodes like several times over, and the makers could not complete it.

Jaws, Adipurush

Watched several movies as mentioned above.

Jaws (1975)

  • Watched this original Jaws movie on Amazon Prime video.
  • Setting is New England i.e. the North Eastern part of United States.
  • Realised why this movie is called as a classic.
  • More than 2 hours long but it feels short and does not feel you have spent so much time watching it.
  • Like I had said 1970's movie would be having few references to Second World War and in this case it is reference to USS Indianapolis.
  • Roy Shneider, Richard Dreyfuss and Robert Shaw have done great work.
  • Especially Richard Dreyfuss looks so young and unlike how he looks now or in his later career.
  • I felt young Richard Dreyfuss looks like Shakti Kapoor of Hindi film industry.

Adipurush

  • I watched this movie on Netflix.
  • I could not understand why there was criticism of the movie.
  • The movie captures the story of Ramayan perfectly.
  • The earlier Ramayan versions make you feel sympathy for Ravana and his gang.
  • Because earlier Ravana is just as like Indians and Rama and his gang.
  • But here the director makes Ravana as "the other".
  • Ravana is unlike what Rama is.
  • Even Lanka is unlike what Ayodhya is.
  • That makes sense because this "otherness" will want to make you part of itself.
  • That is why Sita resisted and rejected Ravana.
  • There is a Ravana in all of us.
  • Every time we want others to follow us on our path we are like Ravana.
  • Ravana wanted Sita to "follow her" and Sita rejected the moves of Ravana.
  • Ravana will always feel what he is doing is right.
  • If we feel we are always right and want people whether specific or in general to follow us we are like Ravana.
  • In the movie it is shown Ravana knew of his ultimate outcome and embraced it anyway.
  • He wanted the ultimate defeat i.e. defeat in the hands of Rama and not surrender.
  • But one thing I will say that Rama should have been without moustache.
  • Maybe if you want to experiment you could have left Laxman with moustache and beard.
  • Hanuman portrayal is too good.
  • Also Rama and Sita don't gel well in the movie as a couple.
  • Here I would like to point out that Hollywood movies and certain Bollywood movies do great (or are in right path) by showing kiss by couple as a sign of intimacy.
  • Else what is difference between a celebrity and fan or person portraying God and his devotee.
  • If a man and woman are couple or husband and wife they have to be shown kissing.
  • In the movie after Ravana is defeated and killed in battle and Rama and Sita meet there could have been a kiss between them that is my feeling.
  • But director could not have shown Rama and Sita kissing.
  • As such movie is in controversy, and kiss between persons treated as Gods would have boiled the country like no other.
  • One cannot imagine the amount of controversy it would have created and where it would have led the country to.
  • Movie is must watch at least once.
  • Like many good movies this movie also does not seem long inspite of being 3 hours long.

Old People, Heart of Stone, Ek Villain Returns

Watched three movies as mentioned above.

Old People

  • This Polish movie was watched on Netflix.
  • I liked the movie.
  • The movie is like Apocalypse but it affects only old people and leads to Civil War kind of situation.
  • Worth watching this movie as it is a fact that old people have been through a lot and have seen a lot of "action" over their long lives.
  • In that sense the plot is like "X Movie" which I had seen earlier.

Heart of Stone

  • This Alia Bhatt - Gal Gadot movie was watched on Netflix.
  • As was not suspected in the movie, Alia Bhatt has a change of mind and ceases to be a villain.
  • Parker is the villain and dies in the movie.
  • Alia Bhatt and Gal Gadot are alive and have made the field ready for sequel.
  • Overall the movie is a "thrill ride" cum adventure movie.
  • Shot in locations of Europe like London, Iceland, Italy and Portugal.
  • Worth watching once.

Ek Villain Returns

  • This 2022 movie was in my "bucket list" for a long time.
  • Too good movie.
  • While the movie begins we do not know how it will end.
  • But while it ends we get to realise that the movie is just great.
  • All actors have done great job.
  • Arjun Kapoor is too good actor.
  • I feel he is not getting his due in Bollywood.
  • Worth watching once.

Kandahar, Anatahan, X Movie

Watched three movies as mentioned above.

Kandahar

  • This movie was watched on Amazon Prime Video.
  • Movie is shot in Saudi Arabia which has been passed off as Afghanistan.
  • Saudi wants to be a hub of film making as was found out from Google.
  • Movie does "Iran bashing" like it is favorite pastime of Westerners and Arabs alike.
  • But Afghanistan is where the action happens.
  • I guess four forces NATO, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran are shown in the movie.
  • Plot is loose.
  • Iran nuclear sector is target but it is shown that it is so easy to take it out.
  • If that is the case then no nuclear country or plant is safe from such kind of attack.
  • Pakistan is shown as a state which works for the highest bidder, it may not be so.
  • Also though NATO has withdrawn from Afghanistan in the movie they still have air superiority is shown.
  • Maybe they are operating drones from Qatar or Oman or Saudi or from warships in the Indian Ocean it is not shown.

The Saga of Anatahan

  • The story of Anatahan I read through one Youtube video.
  • Then Googled it and found out that it is just an unbelievable story.
  • Where a lone Japanese woman is trapped in an island with more than two dozen Japanese men.
  • How they survive for years in the island thinking their nation Japan would be victorious and did not believe that Japan has surrendered.
  • I found out there is movie made by a German director in Kyoto in early 1950's the saga of Anatahan and watched it in Dailymotion.
  • It is just unbelievable movie. Must watch.

X Movie

  • This is a too good slasher/horror movie.
  • Watched on Amazon Prime Video.
  • The Director has done great job to bring the 1970's to life.
  • I will say if not for Jenna Ortega one might have thought this is a 1970's movie.
  • Everything from end credits to beginning credits it feels like 1970's movie.
  • 1970's movie would have references to World War 1 and 2 and Korean War.
  • 1980's and early 1990's movie would have references to Vietnam War.
  • Late 1990's onwards have references to Gulf War and Wars in the middle east.
  • Now there would be no reference to any new war as if war goes nuclear it is the end of the world as we know it.
  • But coming back to the movie, people die in variety of ways, stabbing, gored by pitch fork, shot, eaten by crocodile, crushed by car, heart attack, etc.
  • Worth watching this classic.

Meg 2, Hidden Strike

Watched two more movies as mentioned above.

Meg 2 : The Trench

  • This movie was watched on the big screen.
  • Terrific star cast and acting and use of special effects.
  • Worth watching for Chinese starcast as well.

Hidden Strike

  • This movie was watched on Netflix.
  • Too good action movie starring John Cena and Jackie Chan.
  • Good star cast and worth watching for the Chinese actors also who have done great job.

Jurassic World, Ertugrul, Insidious, Talk to Me

Watched three more movies as mentioned above.

Jurassic World (2018)

  • Watched Jurassic World second part of the reboot of Jurassic Park.
  • This was watched on Amazon Prime Video
  • Worth watching.
  • Movie is like a sequence and it feels nice.

Ertugrul: Season 5: Episode 133, 134 and 135

  • Finally there is some progress and I could watch three episodes.
  • Last I had seen was Episode 132
  • Nice engrossing series and hope to continue watching.

Insidious : The Red Door

  • This movie was watched on the big screen.
  • It is okay movie but can be watched once without any problem.
  • Not that scary as earlier Insidious movies but it keeps the theme of the series alive.
  • Theme means concept like "the Drifter"

Talk to Me

  • Had watched rave reviews about the movie on the internet.
  • I mean the movie has made it big abroad.
  • First I could not believe it was releasing in my city.
  • Watched it on big screen and totally enjoyed it.
  • It is true horror but I must say that movies like Insidious might have been the inspiration for this.
  • When I watched it I realised it was Australian movie and not American one.
  • But inspite of that the movie is good.
  • In fact because it is Australian it can deal with the subject as Australia is the land of aborigines.
  • And several movies are there where they have shown Aborigines in traditional get ups dealing with the mysterious and other worldly stuff and white people join with them.
  • Movie is worth watching and you can watch it in loop.
  • Very few movies I will recommend you can watch in loop.
  • Most movies are good for a one time watch only.

Thursday, 3 August 2023

Barbie, Bawaal, Haunted Mansion

Watched the above three movies.

Barbie

  • Watched this movie on big screen.
  • Too good movie.
  • The fact that such kind of movie can be made shows the ingenuity of the human mind.
  • I mean Barbie dolls have existed over decades and now to encapsulate the same in a movie is amazing.
  • Worth watching.
  • There might be sequels as well.

Bawaal

  • Watched this movie on Prime Video.
  • Too good movie.
  • I found nothing objectionable in the movie if you ask me.
  • Movie is like a crash course on Second World War.
  • Worth watching.

Haunted Mansion

  • This movie was watched on big screen.
  • This is Disney movie and people may criticise Disney for this.
  • But I will say Disney is doing a good job.
  • Some people will say "change is the only constant" and some may say "Nothing changes in the end"
  • These are conflicting sides of view.
  • But Disney embraces "change is the only constant" and is changing and it appears like these movies.
  • Worth watching for good time pass entertainment.

Rocky Rani, Satyaprem, Jurassic World

Watched three movies as mentioned above.

Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Katha

  • Watched this movie on the big screen.
  • I liked the movie.
  • Totally romantic movie filled with old Hindi songs.
  • These songs link the people across borders and boundaries.
  • Truly wonderful movie.

Satyaprem Ki Katha

  • This movie was watched on big screen.
  • Nice movie. Family movie.
  • Worth watching once without any problem.

Jurassic World (2015)

  • This movie reboot of Jurassic Park series was watched on Prime Video.
  • I liked the movie.
  • Worth watching.

PS 2, Mission Impossible, Bird Box, Lost City

Watched the movies as mentioned above.

PS 2

  • Watched Ponniyin Selan 2 on Amazon Prime Video.
  • I liked the movie.
  • If you liked the first part, this movie connects the dots and concludes the two part movie.
  • Not much killing is shown the movie, looks like the director considered the family audience and did not show much gore.
  • Ok watching once.

Mission Impossible

  • This latest instalment of the Tom Cruise movie was seen on the big screen.
  • It is too good for cinematography and other action scenes.
  • Totally worth your money and time and effort.

Bird Box: Barcelona

  • Watched this movie on Netflix.
  • Too good action sequences and ending leaves you with happy feeling.
  • The fact is what the hero thinks are angels are actually aliens.
  • Why few people do not get affected is not revealed just like the original Bird Box movie.

The Lost City

  • This Sandra Bullock-Channing Tatum movie was watched on Prime Video.
  • Too good adventure/action movie.
  • It is Mummy movie, The Rock's adventure movies "Journey" and movies like Jumanji and Indiana Jones rolled into one.
  • It is underrated and worth watching.
  • Perhaps deserves sequel.
  • How Sandra Bullock maintains herself over decades is truly remarkable.

Ertugrul, Oppenheimer, Black Mirror

Watched the above series as mentioned.

Ertugrul Episode 132

  • Watched Ertugrul Episode 132 of Season 5.
  • Last I had seen was Episode 131
  • Too good series. I am enjoying. Hope to complete it soon.

Oppenheimer

  • Watched this big screen movie.
  • I am pretty sure this movie I could not have watched on small screen.
  • But it is watchable on big screen.
  • I felt what was missing was bowler hats.
  • We can see historical videos especially JFK swearing in ceremony and we find many in audience wearing bowler hats.
  • While the ties are there, the hats are missing in the movie.
  • Perhaps Vietnam war changed the scene and people gave up the hats.

Black Mirror Season VI

  • This new series I watched as soon as was possible.
  • I liked all the episodes.
  • The one "Beyond The Sea" with Josh Hartnett was too good.
  • Come to think about it.
  • Such scene was also shown in "Kingdom of Heaven" movie.
  • Where the loss of family makes one a "Knight of the Crusades"
  • It is not far fetched that one has to be a million miles up in space.
  • One can be thousands of miles away for the story.

Lord of the World Chariot Journey

  • This post is for the Lord of the World or Lord Jagannath.
  • People who follow other Gods may ignore Lord Jagannath.
  • But it is okay because in Hindu religion there are 33 crore Gods and Goddesses, 33 crore means 330 million Gods and Goddesses.
  • So in Hindu religion it is okay and acceptable to place emphasis on one God or Goddess over the other and even pray to multiple Gods and Goddesses at the same time or several times in a day.
  • But in Islam, Sikhism, Buddhist, Zoroastrianism, Judaism and Christianity there is the only one God.
  • Now let us detach ourselves from all religions and think in practical terms and then examine Lord Jagannath of Puri.
  • Jagannath means literally Leader or Lord of the World.
  • World does not just mean Earth. It would mean the entire known Universe whatever is within human beings knowledge.
  • Now there is a period when Lord Jagannath represented by the main trinity of deities Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra come out of the temple and travel in chariot known as "rath" to nearby temple which where they were "born".
  • Now single God believers and anti-idol worshipers will dismiss this entire process and say that Lord cannot be created by human and will say that whole process is like a "ritual" with no value.
  • But I would like to say the entire process has value.
  • In fact it shows that God is real.
  • And Lord Jagannath has the power.
    • People may not have seen God and can only know the reality in the "afterlife".
    • Afterlife is something that can be experienced after death.
    • Hindu religion followers may say that afterlife means rebirth.
    • Christian followers though not reject this concept of afterlife and they refined it to say one will lead the afterlife in the "world of Christ". True believers will get "eternal life" in Christ's world which can be called as "Kingdom of Heaven". And so is the belief.
  • The above points are put in separate bullets as it was a diversion of topic.
  • I will say in Lord Jagannath's domain, The Lord stays in temple for several months.
  • The people come from various parts of the world to visit the Lord and gain their blessings.
  • They have various desires, dreams and some just wish to have a glimpse of the Lord.
  • This process carries on for several months and Lord does not move from his "Garba Gruha".
  • Then during Rath Yatra the Lord steps out and moves to a lesser grand temple.
  • Imagine the Lord of the known universe walks among ordinary mortals and stays in a lesser grander temple.
  • And then makes the journey back after about a fortnight.
  • Now one may decry the Lord but one cannot the decry the humans.
  • People have faith and so they visit the Lord and the Lord's temple throughout the year.
  • One cannot ignore the people.
  • Even if one thinks the God is not real one cannot say the people are not real.
  • Millions visit the temple just to have a glimpse of the Lord.
  • And so Lord gets the power from the people.
  • It is the mutual give and take.
  • People think the Lord has power and so they visit the Lord in droves.
  • The Lord in turn gets the power from the people.
  • That process continues every minute, every day for months on end.
  • Also only "true devotees" can visit the temple.
  • At the main temple at Puri, Odisha non Hindus are not allowed as they will lack the devotion needed. Non-Hindus may ridicule the God and the elaborate rituals and try to interrupt the processes of the temple.
  • Thus through the true devotees the Lord Jagannath gains the "power" the power which comes from the people eyes, mind and physical presence.
  • Then there is the situation where the Lord steps out during the "Chariot Journey" and the power diffuses around the globe and becomes a "Force of Nature".
  • It is a good force of course and the power of God (through the people).
  • By ignoring the God and the rituals we are ridiculing the people and human beings and so we are ridiculing ourselves and there is no way to survive that.
  • Thus the power of God, power of people and power of good and being good is one and the same.
  • One has to be good in this world to survive.
  • This the world or Lord of the World, Lord Jagannath.
  • He is the King of Kings, the one and only Lord of the known Universe.

What is a Woman

  • Saw this pathbreaking movie on Twitter
  • Honestly I did not know that transwoman (that means a man who becomes a woman) can never get pregnant.
  • Who can bear children? Only one who was born as a woman.
  • That is what God created and intended it to be.
  • People who think that those who were men and become women through surgery or having medicines or injecting hormones can become pregnant are crazy.
  • Medical science has not advanced to that stage for now.
  • After all we are all God's creations let us not forget that.
  • The Lord works. Some may say in mysterious ways some may say openly but the fact is that God works and humans are nothing in front of Lord Almighty.
  • The other is even more unbelievable and impossible.
  • Actually I searched if a "transman" (i.e. a woman who has transitioned to be a man through surgery and other means) can produce semen.
  • It is such impossibility that I felt no people in the world would be searching for it.
  • It is just crazy that even search engine might have thought is this person who is searching for it crazy?
  • That is also fact a woman who becomes a man through surgery and medicines and injecting herself with hormones or testosterone and taking puberty blockers can only change voice and/or appearance but can never produce semen.
  • That is a fact. And fact is people should be made aware of this.
  • They think just by looking and feeling as a man they can change their gender.
  • The fact is the yardstick according to me is a woman is one who can bear children.
  • A man is one who can produce semen.
  • Those things come from the internal organs which God has given during birth.
  • We get news that some "so called men" have become pregnant. What these news articles don't tell that the person who got pregnant was earlier a woman. Or maybe there was a tumour os some sort and that made the man looked pregnant.
  • Some men may think women are too beautiful and may want to become one. Vice versa is also possible means a woman may think highly of men and want to become one.
  • It is a sort of unfulfilled desire which they want to fulfill in this life only. They do not know if rebirth is true or not and they cannot wait for next birth even if they believe in the concept.
  • So they will start with cross dressing and then go for this kind of abomination that is gender reassignment surgery.
  • Perhaps even from the heavens it is decided which your gender would be.
  • You cannot change your gender by any surgery and so on.
  • Please do not mix lesbianism, homosexuality and cross-dressing with gender reassignment surgery.
  • Gender reassignment surgery cannot change what you were born as.
  • I feel this LGPT+ movement taking place mainly in western countries is the answer to #Metoo movement.
  • It is a situation of "freedom going rampant".
  • But I guess there has to be a "limit to freedom".
  • Too much freedom gives rise to "porn" and "sexual exploitation"
  • This "freedom" later gave rise to #Metoo movement on one hand and "freedom of expression" of gays, lesbians, animal lovers, cross dressers and ultimately body modification people.
  • "Powerful people" who were the "exploiters" quietly gave encouragement to this LGBTQI+ movement so as to suppress the #Metoo movement.
  • That is my take on the issue.

Decolonisations, Salute, Ghost Stories

Watched the above content online.

Decolonisations, Du Sand Et Des Larmes

  • This was watched on TV5 French Asian channel.
  • This documentary was shown as two part series and shows French colonies and the process of decolonisations.
  • This documentary is also there in Youtube but without subtitles.
  • After seeing this documentary one will not feel good about the French.
  • One may not feel to learn French language.
  • Because once one learns French one will know how racists and "Colonialists" the French were and perhaps still are.
  • French were not willing to give up their colonies so easily.
  • They got defeated in Indo-China but that did not mean victory for VietCong.
  • Soon America got involved and Vietnam suffered immensely.
  • Also French were not willing to give up Algeria.
  • Algerians paid hude price perhaps millions dead for their independence.
  • Also in sub Saharan Africa, French eliminated many leaders who were not willing to work with French and installed their puppet Govts.
  • Perhaps even Rwandan genocide may have been orchestrated by French we just don't know as French were the "peacekeepers" over there. Though nothing about Rwanda is shown in the documentary.
  • But I am glad there is documentary for the same. Made by the French. Maybe the British cannot make a documentary like this.
  • That means French are willing to confront their past and make amends perhaps we don't know (we only think they have made amends).
  • The documentary starts from 1940's stops in the 1970's. It does not show from 1970s till 2020's.

Salute (2016 Movie)

  • This Pakistani movie was wtched on Youtube.
  • This movie was made on the life of Shaheed Aitezaaz Hassan who not caring for his life sacrificed himself.
  • Just to save 400 plus student and staff of his school in 2014 in Hangu, KP province, Pakistan.
  • He tackled the suicide bomber and lost his life in the process.
  • Truly a great sacrifice.
  • Worth watching this movie at leat once.

Ghost Stories

  • This was watched on Netflix.
  • I had seen the movie earlier but had forgotten about it.
  • Recently I saw one interview of Gulshan Devaiah who is great actor by the way and he referred to Ghost stories where he played a character which had lot of prosthetics and make up and it was difficult to do.
  • So I reawatched the series and realisd that there are 4 stories and I had forgotten about three stories.
  • Only first one I remembered a little bit.
  • But still it was worth it to watch a second time after many years.

Black Mirror, Fortress 1&2, Space Walker

Watched the above movies as mentioned above.

Black Mirror: Season 5

  • Watched Season 5 of Black Mirror on Netflix.
  • Too good series.
  • Now that Season 6 is out looking forward to watching it.

Fortress 1&2

  • This Fortress movie two parts was watched back to back on Amazon Prime Video.
  • I liked the movie.
  • Fortress 1 shows the movie in an island retreat for ex-service personnel.
  • Fortress 2 shows Bruce Willis has purchased the retreat from the Govt.
  • Movie is worth watching once.

Space Walker

  • Watched this 2017 Russian movie on Bookmyshow Stream.
  • I liked the movie.
  • Worth watching.
  • Such kind of movie will instill "national pride" in the person who watches it sincerely.

Tailgate, The Silent Ones

Watched the two movies as mentioned above.

Tailgate

  • This Dutch movie was watched on Bookmyshow stream.
  • Too good award winning movie.
  • Somehow the villian felt like "Karma" and gets you in the end.

The Silent Ones

  • Watched this 30 minute short movie on TV5 Monde Asia French channel.
  • Worth watching.
  • How fishermen stray into protected waters and have to hide the secret

Barat, Shoes, Bhay, The Day After

Watched the movies as mentioned above.

Barat

  • This short horror movie was watched on Youtube.
  • How this movie goes from funny to horror is just to be seen to be believed.

The Shoes

  • This movie shows a pair of shoes which is part of the horror.
  • Again it packs a punch.

Bhay

  • This short horror movie was watched on Youtube.
  • It shows actual things may not kill you.
  • But fear is what will kill you.

The Day After

  • This is the movie which should be seen to be believed.
  • After seeing this no one will ever want a nuclear war to happen.
  • As the world we know will cease to exist.
  • It does not show in a romantic way.
  • Society will not collapse.
  • Society will sustain itself.
  • But it would be ultimately fatal.
  • People who don't die immediately will die slow painful deaths.
  • Looters will be shot.
  • Society will try to maintain itself. It will not descend into anarchy but survival will be tough.
  • Even for medical people.
  • References has sought from actual situation World War 2 from nuclear bombs dropped in Hiroshima and Nagasaki and sustained fire bombing of Dresden and Tokyo and so on.
  • Trust me no one wants a nuclear war.

Chengiz, Suzume, Evil Dead

Watched three more movies as mentioned above

Chengiz

  • This Bengal movie in Hindi dubbing was watched on big screen.
  • It is too good for action sequences.
  • Worth watching once without any problem.

Suzume

  • This Japanese Anime movie shows how the life goes in a loop when saving the world and another dimension is involved.
  • The plot is only made visible in last 5-10 minutes.
  • The animation is too good and worth watching

Evil Dead Rise

  • This movie was watched on big screen.
  • It hows how the "Evil" has "risen" and takes over the "dead".
  • Somehow the "evil" defies all laws of time and space and physics and chemistry and biology.
  • That is why I feel that "real action" movies have more horror than actual horror movies.
  • Action movies show more killings and "sending people to the other side" than horror movies.

Shakuntalam, Super Mario, Kisi Ki

Watched three movies as mentioned above

Shakuntalam

  • Watched the Hindi version of the movie on big screen.
  • I liked the movie though the pace of the movie is very slow.
  • Also in ice cold snow falling environment the Sadhus and actors wear nothing but loincloth.
  • How is it possible I though.
  • Surely the clothes of the plains and snow clad areas would be different

The Super Mario Bros. Movie

  • This movie deserves all the accolades it is been getting.
  • And the box office success that it is.
  • I really liked the movie where they get transported to another world and end up saving it.

Kisi Ki Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan

  • This movie is too good for the action sequences.
  • Also we get to see three types of display of Salman Khan.
  • One with long hair, one with short hair and finally with the clean shaven look.
  • Worth watching.

Dungeons and Dragons, Coldplay, Sword Art Online

Watched three movies as mentioned above

Dungeons and Dragons : Honor among thieves

  • Watched this movie on the big screen and somehow felt that this movie is too well made.
  • I mean it captures the "fantasy world" like in Middle Ages with magic and villians like those shown in "Game of Thrones".
  • All people are very well suited to their respective roles.
  • Worth watching.

Coldplay: Music of the Spheres: Live at River Plate

  • Watched this movie actually it is a rock show on big screen.
  • Just like BTS and Billie Eilish shows I had seen this was also nice.
  • Worth watching.
  • For all the hit great songs Coldplay performed.

Sword Art Online:The Movie Progressive:Scherzo of Deep Night

  • This Japanese Anime movie was watched on big screen.
  • Worth watching was what I felt just like all other anime movies watched recently.

Gumraah, Inspection, Renfield

Watched three movies as mentioned above.

Gumraah

  • This movie was watched on the big screen.
  • Somehow you cannot get the suspense till the very end.
  • The heroine cop gets duped and can do nothing as she was sent on "special deputation" for the case.

The Inspection

  • This movie was watched on big screen.
  • It is like the movie "Full Metal Jacket"
  • It shows the tough life in the barracks and what is like to train to be a marine.
  • Worth watching.

Renfield

  • This movie shows the story of the Dracula and his assistant Renfield.
  • Worth watching for all the action sequences.
  • Renfield has a change of mind when Dracula's true intention is known and that total chaos and "taking over" of the world.

Rambo Circus, Pope's Exorcist, Bholaa

Watched several movies over past few days.

Rambo Circus

  • This actual Circus I watched with live performances.
  • I will recommend all to attend it if possible.
  • Circus actors make you feel so happy.
  • In fact they make you so happy that you may go into depression later.
  • You may feel how can I live without seeing them again and again.
  • One should guard against such feeling as it can destroy you.

Pope's Exorcist

  • This movie proves that evil exists.
  • It has reference to Spanish inquisition and tells that it was work of Devil.
  • And now the Devil wants to take over the church and the world.
  • And who better than to take over the Vatican Chief Exorcist.
  • Worth watching this movie.
  • Towards the end they show that there are 199 more sites which the Church needs to take care of excluding the one shown in the movie.

Bholaa

  • This action packed movie was watched on big screen.
  • Worth watching once.
  • But the original Kaithi was better I felt.
  • Still some subtle changes have been done in this movie and it may want you revisit "Kaithi" movie once more.

Mrs Chatterjee, Kabzaa, Zwigato

Watched two more movies as mentioned above.

Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway

  • This movie has to be seen to be believed.
  • Supposedly based on true story.
  • Even if you know the story or read about the story it is not the same as watching the story.
  • Only after watching the story you can imagine the pain of the mother and why her troubles will not stop in India.
  • She still had to fight for her kids in India.
  • Also Jim Sarbh does tremendous acting as Norway lawyer and manages to convince (the audience) towards the end that children would be well looked after by Norway Govt.

Kabzaa

  • This movie was watched on big screen.
  • This movie is like KGF movie.
  • I guess you do not have to wait for KGF 3, you can consider this as KGF 3 and watch it.
  • Action is too great.
  • Shivrajkumar makes entry towards the end and more will be shown in Kabzaa 2 the sequel.

Zwigato

  • This movie was watched on big screen.
  • Movie is shot in Bhubaneswar and worth watching.
  • Movie shows the pain of delivery persons who work for minimum wages after losing jobs in pandemic (Covid 19).
  • But movie also shows how one can get joys of life from simple pleasures.

Whats Love, Bheed, Shazam, Demon Slayer

Watched several movies as mentioned above.

Whats Love got to do with it

  • Watched this movie on big screen.
  • A truly modern "British feel" to the movie.
  • Movie is directed by Shekhar Kapoor.
  • Movie is worth watching though we can know the relationship will not last it is actually leads to a nice feeling towards the end.

Bheed

  • This movie was watched on the big screen.
  • I felt without the intimate scene between hero and heroine in the beginning he movie would not be worth it.
  • Else it it becomes like a kids movie (made by kids for kids).
  • But the movie shows the true struggle between Communists and Capitalists and the state machinery and police working for Capitalists.
  • Rest all differences are superficial.
  • Differences like caste and religion are temporary.
  • The true struggle is between class and mass or Naxals/Communists and Elites/Capitalists.

Shazam

  • Watched this movie on big IMAX screen.
  • How the hero and his team saves the day is shown.
  • The original Shazam was too good.
  • This movie reinforces the earlier one.

Demon Slayer : Kimetsu No Yaiba to the Swordsmith Village

  • This movie was watched on big IMAX screen.
  • I liked the movie.
  • Actually collection of three episodes.
  • Final episode has no action.

Ertugrul, Atomic Cafe, Maadhapurana, John Wick 3 and 4

Watched several movies and series as mentioned above.

Ertugrul Season 5 Episode 131

  • Last I had watched till Episode 128
  • Watched three more episodes.
  • Story progresses. Nice to watch

Atomic Cafe

  • Watched this documentary on Youtube.
  • Made from collection of videos from 1950s and 1960s.
  • Actually a link on Twitter led me to that.
  • Worth watching.

Maadhapurana

  • Watched this 10 minute Kannada short movie on Youtube.
  • Worth watching if you ask me.

John Wick 3

  • Since John Wick 4 was about to release I watched John Wick 3 on Lionsgate Play.
  • Too good movie.
  • Movie gets more polished as the series progresses.

John Wick 4

  • Watched this movie on big screen.
  • I liked the movie.
  • Much killings but not gore is shown.
  • Action sequences are highly polished.
  • Crossing the steps scene at Sacred Heart Basilica is something impossible but John Wick does it.

Pathaan, Tu Jhoothi, Creed 3, Triangle, Eternal, 65

Watched several movies over the last week.

Pathaan

  • This movie was watched again on big screen.
  • I do not what is about this movie but when you complete the movie you do not feel bored at all.
  • Very few movies are like this.

Tu Jhoothi main Makkar

  • This movie was watched on the big screen.
  • I liked the movie.
  • Felt like a non-stop roller coaster ride.
  • The story does not stretch several years like most rom-com movies do.
  • I think it wraps up in a few months and that is what is good.

Creed 3

  • This boxing movie was watched on big screen.
  • It shows the "magic of movies".
  • Just like a magician puts a show and then takes your money as entry ticket, movies also do the same.
  • Worth watching once.

Triangle of Sadness

  • This movie has got comedy moments like hell.
  • Worth watching.
  • But it is also a deeply intellectual movie.

The Eternal Daughter

  • This movie is worth watching for the "eerie feeling" we get.
  • Nothing scary. We know we are safe in our seats.
  • Worth watching once

65

  • This movie as the name suggests shows earth just 65 million years ago just when asteroid was going to hit the planet and the dinosaurs were about to get wiped out.
  • So the hero does not come from earth but from another planet and is out exploring when he crash lands into earth.
  • The fact that such a movie can be made shows the "magic of cinema".
  • Just thinking about it is something and then it can be manifested is something else.
  • From trailer it felt that the hero is human and probably "time travels" from future into the past but that is not the case.
  • Also the landscape shown is like present day North America at places.
  • I feel the landscape would be like tropical lands when dinosaurs lived but who knows about that. One can only imagine about it.

The Lair, Decibel, Scream 6, Tar

Watched several movies over the last few days

The Lair

  • This movie was watched on Amazon Prime video.
  • Regardless of the reviews I liked the movie.
  • Worth watching once.
  • Movie now has special feeling when NATO and UK and US have already withdrawn from Afghanistan.

Decibel

  • This Korean movie was watched online.
  • Too good movie.
  • It gets the message across how defense forces make too much sacrifices which civilians are not required to.

Scream 6

  • This was watched on big screen.
  • It continues the tradition of movies especially Scream franchise how we cannot know who the villains are till the end.

Tar

  • This movie was watched on big screen.
  • Too good due to the sound effects.
  • And I believe it captures the difference between cultures perfectly like New York, Berlin and Bangkok towards the end.

Black Mirror, Cocain Bear, Marlowe, Missing, Selfiee

Watched few movies as mentioned above.

Black Mirror Season 3

  • This series on Netflix is definitely worth watching.
  • Available on Netflix it shows future with such realism you wonder if future is already here.
  • Just thinking about it is so much, but they have made it a reality.

Cocaine Bear

  • This is comedy plus horror plus drama movie.
  • Worth watching once.
  • Set in 1985 in a national park in US supposedly based on real story.

Marlowe

  • This movie is great because they have brought 1930's LA alive.
  • Worth watching once if you ask me.

Missing

  • This movie is too good.
  • Shown in digital form. It packs a punch. Shows too more content in its duration then is possible in normal form.
  • Movie shows why you should avoid staying in an abusive relationship.
  • And if you turn abusive even your kids may not like or want you.

Selfiee

  • This movie is worth watching.
  • I felt Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi combination is too good.
  • They can be like a "Double Team" and do all kind of movies including action and comedy.
  • This movie based on Malyalam movie actually shows how "anger is your enemy".
  • If Akshay Kumar had not got angry during his visit to the RTO then the movie would not have been required as there would have been no issue in the first place.

Ertugrul, Shehzada, Elvis, Ant Man

Watched several movies and series as mentioned above.

Ertugrul Season 5 Episode 128

  • Last I had watched was on Netflix Episode 5.
  • When I tried watching it again on Netflix, surprisingly Season 5 was removed.
  • Just as Kururlus Osman is not available on Netflix similarly they have removed Season 5 of Ertugrul.
  • I do not know why.
  • So I downloaded it and watched.
  • Thing is original Ertugrul episodes are of 2 and half hour each.
  • Netflix made it of 45 or 50 minutes.
  • So now I am watching the bigger episodes and I have reached till Episode 128.
  • Trust me people this series is worth watching because we get to know the difference between good and evil.
  • Good people also kill and bad people also kill in the series.
  • We have to understand what is good and what is bad through subtle differences which we can only know if we are deeply engrossed in the series.

Shehzada

  • Watched this Kartik Aryan movie on the big screen.
  • Movie is good but Kartik Aryan in action scenes just does not suit him.
  • Full family drama.
  • Okay for watching once without any problem.

Elvis

  • This 2022 2 hour 45 minutes movie was watched on big screen.
  • I liked it so much that I watched it again on Amazon Prime video.
  • Trust me people everything that happened in America after 1950's till Elvis death in 1977 has been captured in the movie.
  • Tom Hanks as the actor he is has portrayed the role of Elvis manager just perfectly.
  • Tom Hanks will be remembered for generations to come.
  • It is the role of a lifetime.
  • Just showing Elvis without showing his manager would lose the plot.
  • In that sense the director has done a perfect job. He is the same director of the musical Moulin Rouge movie.
  • So many musical stars have been shown in the movie.
  • Including BB King, Little Richard, Fats Domino, and mention is made of Rolling Stones, Jackson 5 and Beatles.
  • Elvis was a phenomena who "cleared the path forward" for many stars including rock stars.
  • It does not matter if you have not lived through 50's, 60's and 70's, if you see this movie you get transported to that time and you can make up for lost time.
  • You also get to know who was Elvis and how he was like an innocent young boy who "wanted out" but could not.
  • He was like a bird trapped in a golden cage.
  • Worth watching this movie.

Ant Man : Quantumania

  • This movie was watched on 3D in big screen.
  • Special effects win the movie.
  • Movie could be shot in a "Hollywood basement" like Red Hot Chilli Peppers Californication song said.
  • But you get transported to another world, the quantum realm.
  • Multi Universe or multiverse is also shown in teh movie.
  • Worth watching this movie if you ask me.

Black Mirror, Bullet Train, Fabelmans, Otto, Tenant, Shiv Shastri Balboa, Magic Mike

Watched several shows as mentioned above.

Black Mirror : Season 2

  • Watched the 4 part Season 2 on Netflix.
  • Worth watching according to me.
  • The stories can leave deep impact on you even though those are less than 1 hour each

Bullet Train

  • This non stop action flick was watched on Netflix.
  • Needless to say the movie can have several "spin offs" as there are several characters in the movie.
  • It can have sequel or prequel also.

The Fabelmans

  • This was watched on the big screen
  • This Steven Spielberg directed period movie is must watch.
  • Full of emotions it definitely captures the European and American "way of life".

A Man Called Otto

  • This movie is also a period movie kind of movie.
  • It has link to pre Vietnam age and present time.
  • Surprisingly there is no mention of Covid in the movie.
  • Movie goes from 2019 to 2022 directly.
  • Surprising because Tom Hanks was one of the most famous and vocal propagater of Covid 19 pandemic.

The Tenant

  • This Shamita Shetty starrer movie was watched on big screen.
  • This movie set in Mumbai suburbs captures the Mumbai life perfectly I felt.
  • Worth watching once.

Shiv Shastri Balboa

  • This Anupam Kher starrer movie is a perfect movie package.
  • Worth watching once.
  • This is set in United States where the movie is shot.
  • This movie has also no mention of Covid 19.
  • Anupam Kher was also one of the famous proponents of Covid19.

Magic Mike's Last Dance

  • This movie finally has mentioned Covid 19.
  • After starting in Florida it shifts to London where the balance movie is set.
  • Worth watching once.

John Wick, Messiah, BTS, Whale, Knock at the Cabin, Almost Pyaar, Woman King, Faraaz

Watched several movies over the past few days as mentioned above and below.

John Wick

  • This movie was watched on Lionsgate Play.
  • Nice movie worth watching.

Messiah

  • This ten episode series was watched on Netflix.
  • Too bad there will not be a sequel because I liked it too much.

BTS : Yet to Come

  • This was watched on the big screen.
  • In this movie all 7 members of BTS are there and they perform in Busan, South Korea
  • Worth watching according to me.

The Whale

  • Too good movie and all Christians should watch this movie.
  • Wonderful performance by Brendan Fraser.

Knock at the Cabin

  • Actually they have shown Apocalypse in the movie.
  • Again all Christians should ideally watch this movie.

Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat

  • DJ Mohabbat is a name and Vicky Kaushal essays the role in guest appearance.
  • Movie is good as it shows inter faith love and how things done in innocence can lead to complete extinguish and end in life.

The Woman King

  • This shows war among tribes and repel of Europeans engaged in slave trade.
  • Movie is worth watching for action sequences.

Faraaz

  • People of all faiths should watch this movie.
  • Extremism is bad and that is what they have shown.
  • And terrorism can never win in the modern world.
  • Terrorists cannot win against the state which has tremendous firepower.
  • Action sequences in the movie have been shot too well.
  • Shashi Kapoor's grandson really looks like Shashi Kapoor.
  • And Paresh Rawal's son looks bit like Virat Kohli.
  • Both have performed well.

Darlings, Major, Pathaan, Godse, Billie Eilish, Puss in Boots, Tiger 24, Junglemahal, Broker

Watched several movies as mentioned above and below.

Darlings

  • Watched this movie on Tata Play Bollywood Premiere Channel. I liked the movie

Major

  • Watched this Adhivi Sesh starrer movie on Tata Play Bollywood Premier channel.
  • I liked the movie which is based on 26-11 Attack in Mumbai.

Pathaan

  • This movie was watched on big screen.
  • Though the movie is 2 and half hours long it feels like a five minute commercial.
  • What I mean to say you do not feel bored at all in the movie.
  • You can watch it in infinite loop and still not get bored.
  • This movie has got something for everyone.
  • And it takes current political situation into account.

Gandhi vs Godse : Ek Yudh

  • This is alternate history shown in this movie which was seen on big screen.
  • Here Gandhiji''s killer Godse ends up saving Gandhiji from assassination bid in the end of the movie.
  • I feel you may need to get admitted into mental asylum after watching this.

Billie Eilish : Live at O2

  • This was seen on big screen.
  • There were people in the hall who were singing along to the songs of Billie Eilish.
  • Guess there are die hard fans of the star and phenomena that is Billie Eilish.

Puss in Boots : The Last Wish

  • This movie was seen on the big screen.
  • Too good movie. Keeping up with present times the movie seems so real and does not feel like an animation movie.

Tiger 24

  • Watched this on big screen.
  • This movie is actually a documentary and made by an Indian American over several years.
  • So this is a product of hard work over several years.
  • I feel this captures on 1% of the tiger paradise which was Indian subcontinent.
  • Man animal conflict has eroded the tiger sanctuaries over decades except few areas.
  • This is worth watching and deserves awards.

Junglemahal : The Awakening

  • Watched this horror movie on the big screen.
  • The movie unfolds like chapters.
  • It is worth watching once.
  • Horror is not that much when we watch action movies where they show killings and all. This movie shows lesser horror than present day action movies

Broker

  • This Korean movie was watched on big screen.
  • Movie is okay to be watched once..

Thursday, 19 January 2023

Operation Fortune, Megan, Plane, Kuttey, The Y, Avatar, Whitney Houston

Watched several movies as mentioned above. All movies were watched on big screen.

Operation Fortune : Ruse De Guerre

  • I liked the movie.
  • Full of action and shot in wonderful locations.

Megan

  • I liked the movie.
  • Movie shows cutting edge AI Robot gone haywire.

Plane

  • I liked the movie.
  • But movie has one flaw.
  • How come there is a big island in Philippines where Govt forces cannot enter and there is no mobile network but 50 miles away is a safe airport with all facilities. It just does not add up.

Kuttey

  • This movie is good.
  • No matter what all say I found Arjun Kapoor to be a good actor and cop role suits him even better.

The Y

  • Watched this supernatural horror thriller movie.
  • I thought it is worth watching.
  • Sequel might follow.

Avatar : The Way of Water

  • This is too good movie.
  • The movie does a great job taking the story away from the jungle and into the water successfully.

Whitney Houston : I wanna Dance with Somebody

  • Biography of Whitney Houston the great singer who died early.
  • Movie is worth watching at least once.
