Khamoshi, Article 15

Watched the movies as mentioned in the subject line.
----------------------------------------------------------
Khamoshi
  • This movie was watched at PVR Forum Mall.
  • PrabhuDeva plays very good role as a cold blooded killer.
  • People die left right and center.
  • But the heroine survives and I guess that is what matters in a movie, the hero and heroine should survive.

Article 15
  • This movie was watched at PVR Forum mall.
  • I liked the movie.
  • It shows "New India" or rather "New UP".
  • Credits in the movie thank UP CM Yogi Adityanath and not CM Akhilesh Yadav like in earlier movies based out of UP.
  • So there is bound to be change in the tone of movie. No "rosy picture" anymore.
  • Here Dalits get beaten.
  • Also Dalits have been shown as stubborn where they dump garbage on roads and stuff as a form of resistance.
  • In short they have not been painted as the good guys.
  • There girls are killed and fathers framed.
  • The perpetrators of Gang rape who happened to be upper castes are killed.
  •  But high chance if they would not have been killed they would have got away scot-free.
  • One constable who was involved in gang rape killed himself (highly unlikely because his sister was still alive).
  • The super leader of Upper castes gets elected as MLA or MP not sure because he wants to bring about Dalit upper caste unity.
  • The Dalit leader is killed in encounter though it is not shown what acts of violence he did. Only advocated peaceful resistance.
  • This "New India" where leaders of opposition gets killed while the majority party gets elected is shown openly which is condemn-able.
  • UP is India's largest state with almost 22 crores population as much as next two Indian states combined (Maharashtra and Bihar) or as much as Pakistan.
  • Thus it matters what happens there will reverberate across the country.
  • I will appeal that such big states can be divided into smaller states for better governance.
