- This post is dedicated to Maharashtra politics.
- What happened in Maharashtra over past few days is simply unbelievable.
- Maharashtra is a big state in fact a very big state.
- It stretches from Vidarbha to Marathwada to Konkan.
- In fact I had the opportunity to travel to Ganpatipule and Mahabaleshwar and it was an experience.
- I must say to govern such a huge state you have to have two options.
- Either divide the state into smaller units else people of diverse backgrounds need to come together.
- What has just happened. People of diverse backgrounds came together. Like Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP.
- One size fits all will not work in Maharashtra.
- That was what BJP and RSS were offering.
- One size fits all may work in any other state but definitely not in Maharashtra.
- BJP was in power in 2014 to 2019 and people have seen what they offer.
- Promises Vs what was actually offered there is a lot of difference.
- Now in 2019 BJP is raising the issue of farmer distress bloody who is responsible.
- You BJP are in power in both Center and State of Maharashtra and now after not solving farmers issue you raise the bogey of farmers. Shame on you.
- I had a feeling that BJP when it issued Presidents Rule in Maharashtra would want to apply "Kashmir formula" in Maharashtra.
- Meaning "keep it under Presidents rule for extended period and then split the state into two or three parts"
- The BJP has always been in favour of small states.
- They feel they would be easier to manage plus it would suit them as they can "manage" the opposition and "manipulate the public" quite well in a small state.
- Then I looked up the numbers and found that BJP has faltered in its traditional strong areas of Vidarbha and Marathwada were the Congress and NCP have won handsomely.
- Certainly then applying the Kashmir solution was out of the question.
- They could have done but without public support that could have resulted in Civil unrest and possibly Civil war in India's most prosperous state.
- Hence what has happened in right.
- When initially Ajit Pawar went with BJP it appeared that entire NCP was with them and then it appeared that Amit Shah with or without Shared Pawar had played a masterstroke and had done surgical strike at enemy camp which means opposition camp.
- Then Ajit Pawar resigned after BJP hastily dropped all the charges against him and BJP was left red faced with Fadnavis left with no option but to resign.
- Fadnavis I must confess was looking like a school boy during his swearing in while the Governor was looking like the Principal.
- It was nothing but a mockery of democracy.
- I must say that when Ajit Pawar returned the truth was out that it was Shared Pawar who has done the surgical strike on BJP camp.
- He actually went inside the BJP camp destroyed them from inside and returned.
- He was like "Tanhaji" in new Ajay Devan movie.
- It was a real surgical strike.
- Now if the alliance sticks together for five years my respect for Marathis and people of Maharashtra can only increase.
- They would have then proved that they are the real descendants of the Marathas who resisted Mughal rule from Delhi and protected the South and Deccan from North.
- The BJP are worse than the Mughals but they are ruling from the North and that is where the similarity ends.
- And if the alliance sticks together means BJP cannot divide the state on the lines of Kashmir and Kashmir formula cannot be applied in Maharashtra and Maharashtra will stay united as one.
