Empire of The Sun

Watched this movie after recording it on Airtel HD plus box.
This is a timeless movie. I had never watched it and then after watching it I realised what a movie maker Steven Spielberg actually is.
We can say that a movie like "Nightmare at Elm Street" or "Night of the Creeps" is an 80's movie. Even Jaws we can brand like a 70's movie. Or we can brand 'Back to the Future' as 80's movie though it is made for the future but this movie "Empire of The Sun" made in 1987 is a timeless movie.
What do I mean by timeless? Timeless means that we can watch the movie a decade later or two decades later or even a century later we will still feel the movie was made yesterday.
And what about Christian Bale. I mean he has acted when he was maybe 10 or 12 years old. It is like he has shrunk in size. I mean he has undergone severe bodily change in "The Machinist". But if only actors could do this reverse their age.
Brad Pitt acted in the "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" where the person goes from old to young.
But this is what Christian Bale looked actually was when he acted in the movie.
I have also seen Christian Bale long back in "American Psycho". But I was never aware of this movie "Empire of the Sun" even existed.
The story is also superb. It shows how the British lost their eminence slowly but surely and Americans gained in importance. How Japan's dream of nursing an empire was laid to dust by American bombers which dropped the nuke bomb.
This is a timeless movie and I knew Steven Spielberg from the movies of Schindler's List and ET but I had never ever heard of this movie. This movie is a must watch according to me.
Ben Stiller is also quite young in the movie. The movie has certain scenes which are remarkable. Like when Bale surrenders to Japanese troops saying "I surrender" they mock him. But in the end when he surrenders to Americans they shift him to the home for orphans. It can make you wonder where is more freedom? Under so called free countries or under occupying forces?
You are no threat to occupying forces if you give no threat and that is a situation of maximum freedom. If you give resistance then you face their wrath. But in the "free societies", you are no threat if you want to become a part of their societies. If you want to 'go astray' the you face the heat because you become a threat.
Thus the so called free societies are ideal places to become 'sheep like' and not 'lion like'.

Far from the Madding Crowd

Watched this movie on Tata Sky Showcase. This movie is nice according to me. I liked it. The advantage of watching on Tata Sky Showcase Channel is that you can watch it again and again over the course of a day and then you get to like it.

Batman vs Robin

Watched the above animation movie on Tata Sky Showcase channel. Movie is okay for a one time watch.

Power of Pyramids

I feel there is certain power in the shape of a pyramids.
I thought about it after visiting Jaganath temple in Bangalore.
The God or deity is in the tallest tower as per below:
Basically, the temple is divided into four parts.
One is open courtyard and next are the three towers.
Among the three towers, the tallest one houses the lord. The smaller two house the visitors and the "bhakts" who have come for "darshan" and blessing from the lord.
If we look at the three towers they assume a sort of 'pyramid'. As we have seen throughout India, almost all temples are in the shape of pyramids.
Ancient Egyptians also made pyramids.
There is also meditation centers across the world which assume a pyramid shape.
But if we look at the image of the lord Jagannath inside the temple it assumes tremendous significance.
The lord has two eyes and they make a stare continuously.
The eyes of the Lord are like in an "Everlasting Gaze" which was a Smashing Pumpkins song by the way.
Inside the temple and inside the tallest tower of the temple the Lord assumes the power of a gaze plus have the power of the Pyramid.
There are many things which are in a mystery. But we know that the Lord is housed in the tallest tower due to some reason only.
It could some Alien or Extraterrestrial Intelligence as well, we just do not know. It is all a mystery.
In Islam depictions of God are not allowed simply because God does not represent anything what is available on the Earth. In Christianity also Christ is known and cross is known but God is not known. Churches also are similar in some aspects to pyramids. Even Masjids have a tall tower.
All of those try to reach out to something up above.
In earlier times, churches and Mosques used to be tallest buildings. Even now in many places in India, temples would be tallest in their towns or villages and people simply will not try to go beyond them.
It is okay we know that God Narayana showed his "Vishwaroopam" in battlefield of Mahabharat to Arjuna. Inspite of all depictions in history we know that only Arjuna and one who was narrating the tale to blind king Dasaratha, Sanjaya could see that because Lord had given them the power.
That "roopa" or image of God is one which cannot be seen in the Naked eye. And obviously it cannot represent anything existing on earth. I feel we all worship the same lord when we worship some lord.
The eyes are the route to experience things even in the case of animals as well as humans.
So the Lord has made a deity who is Lord Jagannath and given him eyes and he is housed in a tallest pyramid of a temple. And I feel there is certainly some power with the Lord in a situation like that.

Congress plus a Cow

I fully agree with recent comments made by Arun Shourie that this present BJP Govt. is nothing but Congress + A cow.
What it means that this Govt has nothing to offer. I mean nothing better to offer than what was already on offer by the UPA govt led by Congress.
And the cow implies that it carries out acts openly in the name of the "Holy Cow" which represents Hinduism.
Congress carried out the Cow acts in a hidden manner but this Govt. does it openly and so it is Congress+ A cow.
If in any state there is an alternate to this Congress and BJP, I feel people in that state should go for it.
And when it comes to between Congress and BJP/RSS(Riot Sevak Sangh), I feel Congress is the lesser evil.
By openly carrying out acts in the name of Hinduism, BJP/RSS is doing more damage to Hinduism than any outsider can ever dream to do.
They are destroying it from the inside like termites.

Bahubali the Beginning

Watched the above movie on laptop.
I will say it is a "brown Troy" movie or a "brown Exodus:Gods and Kings" movie.
While those movies are "White" this movie is "brown" and captures the essense of "Indian" culture.
Movie is left incomplete because there will be sequels. Two are certain to happen.
I feel this has the potential to be "Desi Star Wars" or "Desi Harry Potter" or "Desi Lord of the Rings".
It is too good quality for an Indian movie comparable to ones from Hollywood or Hong Kong.

Baby, Dil Dhadakne Do, Masti Express

Watched three movies as mentioned in the subject line.
All movies are okay for a one time watch.
Masti Express has shown auto race and I feel he attempted something which has not been shown before. What if there are no big stars. Movie is worth it.
Baby and Dil Dhadakne Do on laptop.
Masti Expree on Airtel HD+ box after recording.
