- I have started to watch Game of Thrones and I am loving it.
- I am watching it on Hotstar and it is offering uncensored content.
- I remember Hotstar came into the market in 2015.
- Initially I dismissed it.
- I thought if one can watch sports on Tata Sky or Airtel DTH what is the need for online streaming through Hotstar.
- Then in 2016, Netflix became available in India and the area of online streaming began.
- But Netflix was too expensive, 500 INR per month is not less amount.
- The came Amazon prime Video and Hooq.
- Hooq I was unable to watch on PC.
- Amazon Prime was cheap initally 500 INR per annum which now is 1000 per annum.
- Then Hotstar was on offer when I became member and that was around 700 per annum. Actally was 1200 per annum and as it was on offer it was lesser.
- So I became member and haven't looked back since then.
- What is good for me is the fact that we pay it in advance for 1 year.
- Surely one month is a small time. But not one year.
- One year is quite a good amount of time to watch whatever we want.
- One month passes quite fast.
- One year endures.
- So recently i had a chat with Netflix employee and I asked whether they are offering an annual package with reduction of expenditure or savings in other words.
- He said he was not aware if Netflix is coming up with the same.
- So I told him to keep me informed as when Neflix offers an annual package I will be definitely one of the first to avail it.
- Coming back to the series.
- I have completed Season 1,2,3,4,5 and now am watching Sixth season.
- Game of Thrones began in the year 2011 (Season 1)
- Now I am watching Season 6 which has come out in 2016.
- I will say this series is worth watching.
- We get a lot to learn from the way the Ancient world was.
- I mean many stories are part of imagination but it is no difference.
- We get an historical perspective anyway.
- there is a lot of things in the series but I cannot put it in a simple blogpost.
- All I can say is that you have to watch it to understand it.
- And one person may differ from another and so his interpretation of the game of Thrones will also differ.
- It is worth watching.

Game of Thrones
Padmavat
Padmavat
This movie was watched at Carnival Cinemas, Rockline mall.
This movie was watched at Carnival Cinemas, Rockline mall.
- What I found that there is nothing in the movie to protest about.
- If there is anything to protest it is the depiction of Sati or jauhar where women willingly give themselves to the fire.
- Surely life cannot be that bad that you will prefer to die.
- I will say no community has been disrespected in the movie.
- They have not depicted the Muslims as Muslims but they have depicted them as "Khiljis"
- And Hindus are not represented as Hindus but as "Rajputs"
- It could be that they are unique subset of a larger set.
- In that sense there is nothing to protest about.
- Also what we learn that Padmavati the princess is from Sinhala kingdom which means she is Sri Lankan.
- How can a princess from another culture who became queen accept such a barbaric method to die which is Jauhar or Sati offering oneself to the fire.
- I mean I understand the Ancient Iranians/ Persians were fire worshipers and Hindus can trace their roots to those invaders from Central Asia who are known as Aryans.
- But this is limit.
- Fire worshipping cannot be stretched to such a limit that you will offer yourself to the naked flame.
- In this sense this movie is worth protesting about.
- I have heard that dying by burning is one of the worst ways to die.
- Another worst way to die is getting trampled by elephant.
- Now women are offering to die rather than stay alive.
- This is madness and wrong.
- In this sense, Alauddin Khilji appears more human as he wanted to keep the continuity of life.
- But this so called "Rajput pride" got the better of them when they committed suicide.
- Also the Brahmin priest was banished and that was disrespectful I feel.
- The Rajput pride made the Brahmin priest thrown out of the Kingdom.
- In a war human rights violation happen all the time and that has been shown in the movie.
- Like Khilji enters the palace unarmed but is not hurt as he is guest.
- But Khilji takes the King as hostage and asks Padmavati for visit.
- Then the Queen Padmavati gets the Brahmin priest killed by Khilji as a precondition for her visit and under the guise of taking her servant women, infitrates Delhi with hundreds of Rajputs and attacks Khilji forces on the Day of Jumma.
- Then Khilji returns with bigger force and during single combat with the Rajput king, his forces attack the Rajput king from behind and gets him killed.
- Inspite of his efforts, he cannot save Queen Padmavati who happily walks to her death alongwith hundreds of women, pregnant women and children included.
- I will say this single fact is regressive and there is no happy ending.
- I must confess I cried during the ending.
- There is no way to stop the tears.
- The tears came automatically to me.
- The last scene was too emotional and in that sense the director did a tremendous job.
- What is the reason for the tears? the director has exploited a loophole and all humans will have this.
- It is the fact that the alpha male (Khilji) cannot meet the alpha female(Padmavati).
- It is like two ends which can never meet.
- Never ending saga where banks of two rivers never meet or two sides of same coin which can never meet.
- So close yet so far.
- Life is so precious. Why waste it for so called pride.
- Khili more human and rich than you can imagine and still you reject that.
- Aim of humans should be to remove differences and unite.
- And this is the anti thesis to that and so the tears flow naturally.
- But my final point would be that the filmmaker would have conceptualised this story long back maybe several years back or decades ago.
- Now after too much effort and deliberations whether it would be possible or not he has managed to make it.
- Why try to nip all his effort in bud.
- Surely humans we can do better.
- We need to give space to the talented people to make movies they want.
- Why we try to muzzle them. that is wrong.
Why I stopped watching WWE? Part 2 & Concluded
- Now 2014 went.
- 2015 went
- 2016 went
- In 2017, I lost a few episodes of WWE and all through the three years of 2014, 2015 and 2016 I was watching the missed episodes on Internet by downloading the episodes.
- I found out that there was so much of content every week that it was almost impossible to "catch up".
- I mean you can download all the content of the world but what use is it if you cannot watch it.
- So I took a conscious decision to stop watching WWE.
- Also what happened that Carnival Cinemas started offering MovieCard.
- I know that Carnival Cinemas based out of Mumbai started this Moviecard in October 2016 in Mumbai.
- In Bangalore and nationwide they launched in February, 2017.
- I became aware of Moviecard in March, 2017 and I took that.
- Since I was spending much time watching movies whenever I got a chance, it was not possible to "catch up" with WWE anymore.
- So I decided to "sacrifice" watching WWE so that I can spend the time in doing the things that I have always been doing namely, watch movies and Music television.
- Come to think about it is not a decision I regret.
- If we think about it many scenes in WWE are plain dumb.
- Most dumb of all is the entrance of the Superstars.
- How dumb is that?
- A person enters and people are cheering for him or her.
- He/she acts like they are the God's gift to humanity and they are doing favour by entering the arena.
- Roam around acting stupid and "showing themselves" off.
- Related to that is when a Superstar enters they announce the place where they are from.
- Like Dean Ambrose is from Cincinnati, Ohio for example.
- That makes you believe that you have "roamed" Cincinnati, Ohio.
- Nothing can be farther from the truth.
- Because you are dumb you feel like that.
- WWE makes you dumb.
- Then the match begins and many outcomes are fixed. that I believe even now.
- Second is if we compare the matches with what used to happen in antiquity like Gladiators and stuff, this is lame.
- 2000 years ago during Roman times people or rather slaves used to fight till death.
- People used to fight each other and animals.
- That is the stuff the real stuff.
- Nowadays the Superstars are assets and WWE cannot afford "losing" their stars as people come to watch their stars and they exert a magnetic pull.
- Without the superstars WWE or TNA Impact are nothing.
- If the superstars don't remain, WWE or Impact Wrestling doesn't remain. Simple as that.
- So the fight till death concept will not work.
- Third is that WWE matches do not entertain.
- People fighting each other and providing entertainment is regressive.
- The superstars always remain agitated and it is not good for ones mental well being.
- By looking such kind of stuff our minds remain agitated all the same.
- It is like a disease. the agitation disease is contagious.
- It can jump from the TV screen to us.
- Their acting is also not up to mark.
- It is like when porn stars do the acting, WWE stars appear similar.
- Acting is tough job.
- That is why we have Golden Globes and Oscars for actors and Grammys etc for music.
- Porn stars have AVN awards and WWE have mode their own awards which happens night before Wrestlemania in March/April.
- If you have to watch acting then you should see good movies and TV series and not waste time on WWE.
- Fourth is time is limited in ones life.
- How one spends the limited amount of time is important.
- Time once wasted on doing one thing is not replacable by doing other things.
- Limited amount of time in ones life have to be spent judiciously.
- If you watch WWE you cannot watch a movie.
- If you watch one movie you miss the chance to watch another and so on.
Time, Fake, Dumb, Agitation not helpful
Why I stopped watching WWE? Part 1
- I must say that I have stop watched watching WWE.
- Earlier during my childhood days ( early 90's) WWE was known as WWF and after Gulf War in 1991 newly we got Cable Tv in India and they began beaming foreign programs into our TV sets.
- Among the programs we got was Ice hockey, American football, of course cricket and WWF or Wrestling.
- There was also a channel TNT which used to broadcast Black and White Hollywood movies and that used to show TNT Nitro.
- I for one was never interested in violence.
- What interested me in those days were the movie Channels and Music TV (MTV).
- Plus I felt that WWF was fake.
- Certain stunts are not fake I do admit.
- But the script was faked.
- They followed a pattern so as to keep the audience engrossed.
- Same thing is continuing till today.
- Now let us come to current time.
- I used to watch TV through Cable TV right through all the years (1991 till 2005).
- Till 2005 when I fist got a dish antenna which beamed the Free to Air Doordarshan Channels.
- Then again I had to dismantle the dish when I changed my address and cable Tv continued.
- In 2007 I again fixed my Free to Air Dish. And I had both Cable and Free to Air Dish.
- Slowly slowly what I found that number of variety got reduced.
- DD i.e. Doordarshan remained Free to Air but many channels moved to Paid platform.
- In 2008 when my Cable TV stopped BBC World I went for Dish TV which was Standard Definition.
- At that time also I had both cable and Dish TV.
- Then in 2011 I went for Cable TV once more when there was change in address.
- I must say in cable TV we never get to see what we like.
- We only watch what is shown.
- In 2012 I took HD LED TV.
- Since my Cable TV box was SD, I went for HD Videocon D2H.
- Even then I never got to see what I like.
- In 2013 I took a second connection. Videocon D2H always said that one wire can only support one box.
- So I took Tata Sky which had common antenna in our building.
- Subsequently Videcon D2H stopped completely which made me take a second Tata Sky connection.
- Then I started watching the Sports channel and realise that WWE programs show themselves quite often on Tv and there is a pattern.
- The programs were Raw, Smackdown, Superstars, Main Event, NXT and special events which happened once a month.
- In other words I discovered WWE Universe.
- And I was lost in it.
- There was also TNA which used to be shown on Son Sports.
- While WWE was being shown in Ten Sports.
Shaitaan Haveli
Shaitaan Haveli
- This blog post is regarding the series Shaitaan Haveli on Amazon Prime.
- I must say this series is great and does deserve a sequel.
- The people in the series have done amazing effort.
- I would like to say that such kind of series is only possible in India.
- "It happens only in india".
- This is "Satan ki Haveli".
- Haveli means "palatial mansion" and Shaitaan means Satan.
- Ten episodes on offer.
- Worth watching and enjoying.
- A movie is over in 2 or three hours.
- But a TV endures itself.
- And it comes back in several seasons and is thus very difficult to watch.
- While a movie may get over in one sitting but a TV series drags on.
- That is why I have not been posting about the TV series I have been watching.
- Both movies and TV series are tough to make anyways and people who make them put in lot of effort.
- Movie rewards happen through box office on the week or weeks following release.
- TV person will get rewarded slowly through maybe online streaming when no theatre will screen TV stuff and it will fade from peoples memory.
- This series deserves its due and I will say kudos to the people behind the show.

Troll Modi in Action once more
Troll Modi in Action once more
- What we find that our PM Modi is again acting like a troll.
- He is just not obsessed with Selfies anymore.
- After trying to rule airways 24/7, he knows just where the peoples attention are.
- He knows where the cameras are located.
- He knows that Budget day is the day when the entire country's attention is focussed on the TV sets.
- So now we find after FM has presented his speech, Modi has used his parrot and puppet Doordarshan to hijack the airwaves.
- He knows that this is his last budget.
- There will be no full budget in 2019
- Again next year he may not not get majority because mandate may get fractured.
- Unless he and his govt engage in large scale EVM tampering it would be difficult to get absolute majority.
- Thus he does not want to lose the chance and is airing his views post budget.
- tell me Indians is this not enough?
- Just how much do we need to bear with this man Modi.
- Everwhere he is just entering like a troll.
- he promised minimum Govt but now his face is everywhere from petrol pumps to books and hoardings even inrternet ads.
- Give us a break.
- Even not allowing space for discussion of budget as his speech is being broadcasted in all channels.
- As if it is word of God.
- he knows how to hijack peoples attention.
- make hay while the sun shines.
- Strike while the iron is hot.
