Natural State of Hair and beard Part 3

  • This is in continuation of earlier blog post Natural-state-of-hair-and-beard-part-2 and Part-1 earlier to that.
  • Hopefully I will conclude here in Part 3.
  • Because this is a topic I am not too familiar about and am venturing new into this.
  • First we need to have a background as to how things have led to this.
  • Since my school days (Year 1992) when I met a tuition master Mr Raghuram from a Computer Institute (in which my father happened to be owner) told me to have "head bath" daily, I always been having head bath.
  • My 'head bath' exercise was solidified in Mumbai where I heard from a fellow who was doing CA Articleship as me and used to stay in Kalyan that when he used to return everyday he used to have "head bath" after reaching home.
  • Now I never bathed twice daily but every morning I used to have the "head bath".
  • Again, I have observed for more than 25 years that if I keep my hair even a little bit long I mean this long that you can hold it or grip it (maybe 2 inches perhaps) and then I have head bath then I feel feverish and my head spins around. I feel giddy and unwell.
  • So I have been keeping my hair short so short that when we try to grip it you can't.
  • That has been the norm ever since I have been going to saloon alone.
  • Perhaps since 1990 or 1991 I have been going to saloon on my own.
  • Earlier to that my father used to take me to the saloon.
  • I remember an incident when my head was infested with lice and the barber at the saloon got alarmed when he was cutting my hair after seeing the lice and then he paused for a bit and then waited for my father who had gone to purchase groceries and after my father returned complained to him and then probably completed his work after sulking and convincing by my father.
  • After that I have been going to saloon on my own and making special effort to keep my hair short, very short.
  • So short that my grandmother used to say that I looked like a "Bihari" and my uncle used to say that I have become bald.
  • For keeping this short I used to visit saloon several times.
  • If one saloon will not do the job then I will visit another maybe 1 or 2 days later.
  • If it is that short then no need to visit for almost a month.
  • My indication was that if my head started spinning as I used to have head bath daily, then it was time to go for haircut at saloon.
  • Now August 2013 was a landmark moment when a family friend, my fathers friend, an uncle asked me to procure a "Moser hair Clipper/Trimmer".
  • Till that time I had never heard of Moser company or brand and all I had heard of was Moser-Baer which used to supply CD's and DVD's.
  • I then ordered one online from Ebay after I failed to find it in shops and malls.
  • But he could not take it as he left for his native place by the time the product arrived.
  • Then I began to use it myself.
  • And I must say that it was my dream to cut my hair myself.
  • I had made the attempt in Mumbai as well when near Santacruz (West) station I had bought a trimmer in 2001 which was actually for beard and not hair of head.
  • I used to shave completely during that time and was never aware that people would opt to trim beard and not shave (it felt so unnatural to me). I mean shaving was a natural thing to do I felt at that time.
  • When I found that trimmer was not working for hair, I returned it complaining that it was not working and not useful and the shopkeeper showed demo on his hand by trimming some of his hair of the hand but I said I still did not want it and I brought a soap (Camay soap) in exchange. He gladly gave it as it was definitely beneficial to him.
  • Looks like Part 4 will have to be done. I will continue in next post.

Bad Boys for Life

  • Watched this movie Bad Boys for Life at PVR Cinemas, Forum Mall, Koramangala IMAX Screen
  • I liked the movie.
  • Very well made movie
  • Worth watching.
  • I liked Will Smith and Martin Lawrence.
  • Surely the movie deserves more sequels.
  • And the way the Govt works is shown towards the end of the movie.
  • If the Govt wants something from you, you are free inspite of all the crimes you done.
  • You go undercover or go into witness protection.
  • Ultimately you work for them.
  • Govt will protect you but same can't be said of one in the opposite sides i.e. criminals.
  • Criminals even if they are your colleagues don't guarantee your safety.
  • That is the reason people want to be in Govt or work with the Govt.
  • And if they think that Govt is not working for them they protest.
  • If they are allowed to protest it is democracy else not.
  • But ultimately the Govt wins.
  • But too much of Govt brings the death of Govt like we saw in Nazi Germany or Soviet Union.
  • Hence there has to be a balance even in the case of Govt decisions.
  • Too much of Govt is bad both for Govt and people.

Natural State of Hair and beard Part 2

  • This post continues the earlier post Natural State of Hair and beard Part 1
  •  I will say there is one more reason for you to shave or not shave and that is as follows:
    • Everyday you are exposed to various things happening in the world
    • Some are good and some are bad.
    • Bad Govts making bad laws, Govts not caring for citizens, accidents, assassinations, killings, war, disasters, disease, hunger, suffering and all and what not.
    • Your face is where it strikes you.
    • You watch TV or read newspaper or  read in news website or app or social media.
    • Your eyes and face is the gateway to such kind of painful news.
    • And do remember that there are organisms living in your face called Demodex
    • Now when you don't shave it is possible for some demodex to survive perpetually in your face. When you wash your face some may get washed away and when you trim your beard some may go away with the excess hair but it is possible some will just cling on and survive their entire lifespan.
    • They also get exposed to such kind of news which you get exposed to. Remember your face is "gateway" to all that is happening around you and the world.
    • Now when you shave daily you simply "wash away" all the bad news (along with the demodex) that you are exposed to over the past 24 hours and get a chance to begin fresh.
    • Whatever demodex will emerge subsequently will be "new " and begin fresh life in your face.
    • And for you also it is like a God-given chance to begin fresh.
    • You are not God. You are only a living being with consciousness living in the creators (or God's) world.
    • Now if you don't shave you have to live with all the bad news you get exposed to (and the demodex also do the same).
    • Surely it is tougher to be with a beard or trim the beard and live with the bad news being exposed every day of your life.
    • There is spot of brightness and "something to look forward to" when you shave.
    • And you wash away what you were exposed to earlier to when you shaved.
    • And that is the reality.
    • Whether you want to be tough and cling on to the beard (even if you trim it it still remains) or take the easy way out and shave daily and begin afresh
  •  That does Part 2. I will write soon about the main hair which is on top of our heads and that is common to both males and females unlike beards which are unique to males of our species.

Natural State of Hair and beard Part 1

  • This blog post is about what should be our natural state of hair.
  • Yes everybody's got hair on top of their heads unless they have gone bald or chose to remain bald.
  • I have written plenty about how our facial hair i.e. beard should be in earlier blog posts.
  • In this post I will club hair and beard.
  • But about beard I will write in brief here. Hair follows later.
    • The beard should be maintained if one goes all the way. If one maintains full beards.
    • Just shaving off moustache is not acceptable according to me.
    • Because if you can afford to shave the moustache why leave rest of the face.
    • It only shows stubbornness on you part.
    • You should shave fully;
    • Else not shave at all.
    • If you do not shave you can use trimmer because using scissor on your own face is kind of risky and  you may cut your own face or lips in the process.
    • Trimmer is safer.
    • Then when you use trimmer what length should you leave the beard is it 0.5 mm, 1 mm, 2 mm or 5 mm. You will always be in confusion.
    • Then if you have white hair growing out of your beard then what will you do?
    • You can apply color. But if beard is too small then the coloring is useless as white hair will come again very fast.
    • You can make it grow to some decent size let us say 5 mm and then color it.
    • But anyone seeing your face from close up can see the white hair below as coloring may only be effective for top.
    • So option is to shave completely.
    • That is simpler, shave once every 24 hours.
    • Just like you have bath or brush your teeth just do the shaving.
    • But if you have no problem showing your white hair in your beard then no need to shave.
    • One thing is certain if you die today or any day then the beard will not go with you.
    • Beard will remain with your body while your "soul will get released" as per belief.
    • So I think that there is no problem in shaving because if you die today it does not matter whether you were clean shaven or had a beard.
    • Even if you were clean shaven you would still have a very small amount of "beard" let us say 0.1 or 0.2 mm.
    • Thus to "afterlife" the beard will not follow you.
    • And you will not carry your beard.
    • It will just be one of your "earthly possessions" which you leave behind and it will be destroyed in due time depending on whether you are cremated or buried.
    • So ultimately keeping or having the beard or shaving is dependent on the fact whether you are capable (to shave or not) or willing or can afford it (water supply, shaving kit, blade or barber) or are too lazy to not do it.
    • Thus it is a personal decision and should be left to the choice of the individual.
    • But the beard will show your age because as you age the beard will turn whiter and whiter and whether you feel good about it is upto you.
  • The next post I will continue with hair details.

1917 Movie

  • Watched this movie "1917" on big screen
  • Watched it at PVR IMAX Screen at Koramanagala
  • I liked the movie
  • Basically it is a true story narrated by a survivor.
  • If we had seen on some channel like Discovery Channel then the story would have been over in 2 minutes.
  • But when it is captured frame by frame like in a movie like 1917 it takes more than 2 hours and the story feels so real and we can relate to it.
  • But if we listen to the story or someone narrating it, we will dismiss it.
  • We may say that the man has gone through tough times.
  • Or something like this can never happen to me.
  • Or something like has happened and we can do nothing to change the past.
  • Or bad things have happened and in future nothing like this will happen and the future is in our control.
  • But that is not fact.
  • We look into the painful aspect of history and work towards a future free of pain.
  • We learn from history. That should be the motive.
  • In that aspect the movie is too good. Well made movie and worth watching.

Brightburn, Jeepers Creepers 3

Watched two movies as mentioned above in the subject line.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Brightburn
  • This movie was watched on Amazon Prime Video.
  • The hero is actually a Superman kind of guy who comes from "alien world".
  • But instead of becoming hero he goes to the dark side and does villian like of activity and hence becomes villian.
  • I will say upbringing has a lot to do whether such kind of person becomes hero or villian.
  • Thus such kind of superman from another world is actually like a normal human being.
  • Also a person who is a hero needs "a villian" to succeed and become hero else he may end up targeting innocent and become a villain by conduct.
  • That is the way world works.
  • In order to show yourself as hero you need to dominate innocent and project them as villians as real villians may not be readily available.
  • So a hero is actually a villian who harms innocents.
  • And that way this movie is a classic and worth watching.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Jeepers Creepers 3
  • I liked Jeepers Creepers both 1 and 2 which came long back and I had seen on Video CD.
  • Now Jeepers Creepers 3 was watched on Amazon Prime Video.
  • I will say this movie and the Jeeper character goes in the way of IT Clown monster.
  • It seems the Jeeper monster is "Ancient" and has been around for thousands of years.
  • Perhaps he has also troubled the Native Americans earlier just like the IT Clown Monster.
  • Then he goes into hibernation once more.
