Watched the above movies over the past month.

The Courier

• This movie was watched at PVR  Forum Mall.
• I liked the movie.
• It shows the interaction between a British Man and a Soviet Spy.
• Particularly it shows how the Cuban missile crisis unfolded.
  

Saina

• This movie was watched at Inox, DN Regalia Mall.
• This story captures the history of Saina Nehwal.
• How she rises and falls and then rises again.
• Movie is worth watching.
• By interval in the movie she had already risen in her career.
• The second half of the movie deals with how she "re-rises" again.
  

Koi Jaane Na

• This movie was watched at Cinepolis, Esplanade Mall.
• I liked the movie.
• The movie is good in suspense factor as even I was unable to think who the villian was.
• I thought other characters could be the killer but never though that the heroine herself was the killer.
  

Flight

• This movie was watched at Cinepolis, Esplanade mall.
• Movie is okay as it shows a journey in a private jet from Mumbai to Dubai which is "sabotaged". 
• The hero manages to survive and sequel of the story is expected in 2023 as the story is to be continued.
  

The Mauritanian

• This movie shows the journey of man from his home country where he is captured to Guantanamo bay.
• Actually the person has stayed in Germany since young days and during his visit to his home country he gets captured and handed over to the Americans where he is forced to confess under torture and duress.
• Movie shows how the so called "war on terror" actually becomes a "mental terror war on the captives"
  

Nomadland, 99 Songs, Voyagers

• Today watched three movies as mentioned in the subject line.
• Actually from tomorrow there is lockdown announced by the State Govt for Covid-19.
• So cinemas and malls are going to be shut.
• All the three movies were watched at PVR Cinemas, Forum Mall, Koramangala 
• Movies were watched at 12:10, 14:35 and 17:10.
• It was like I exited one theatre and entered another.
• In between I just had the time to grab a quick bite of Zinger Burger at KFC.

• Nomadland
• This movie I liked. Movie is definitely of award winning variety.
• Movie captures silence, the silence when the crowds are gone or when the weather shows its colours or the silence of the "ghost towns" of America.
  
• 99 Songs
• This movie is definitely a piece of art.
• Movie is shot in Maharashtra Western Ghats, Shillong, Udaipur among others.
• It has come from the heart.
• Definitely this movie is like Rock On 2 which also had Meghalaya connection or like Rockstar movie which also had A.R.Rahman footprint all over and it was also a classic musically.
  
• Voyagers
• This movie shows how children grow up and they become parents and grandparents and they are the ones who will inherit whatever the world has to offer.
• This movie is like "Chaos Walking" or "Passengers" movie.
• But here a mini "civil-war" breaks out when the subjects do not take the medicine allotted to them and the end result is the person who caused the mutiny perishes.
• The rebels get the weapons kept for future generations and they become trigger happy.
  
• Lynch mob is also shown in the movie where the Indian looking person is killed.
• Looks like no matter how developed the society or western or eastern there is no answer to lynch mobs.
  

Mumbai Saga

• Watched this movie Mumbai Saga at PVR Koramangala IMAX Screen
  
• I liked the movie.
• Basically this movie is a political drama as well in addition to being a gangster action movie.
• It is not like "Shootout at Wadala" which also had John Abraham as the star which was an out and out gangster action movie.
• This movie is firmly grounded and they have shown a Bal Thackeray kind of character portrayed by Mahesh Manjrekar.
• This Bal Thackeray kind of character is using people to do the work he wants.
• The don also reports to him and so does the cop.
• If the don exceeds his jurisdiction he must die and the Bal thackeray kind of character uses the cops for that.
  
• The don dies but illegal and legal business conducted does not die, only the don is changed.
• The "Marathi manoos" basically "rules Mumbai".
• Bombay becomes Mumbai and it was bound to happen.
• That is shown in the movie.
• People who live with "Bombay mentality" must realise that the "new era" for the "foreseeable future" belongs to "Mumbai monoos" which is "son-of -the soil" which has been the motto of Shiv Sena and NCP. And maybe of Maharashtra Congress also.
• BJP may want to disown the son-of-soil policy.
  
• Few top Gujarati and Marwari may control BJP but when it comes to Mumbai that is the ground zero where BJP will be defeated and the "Marathi Manoos" culture cannot be estranged from Mumbai forget rest of Maharashtra.
• All the money owned by the rich industrialists cannot buy off the Marathi Manoos and that is a fact.
• What happens in Mumbai is applicable to rest of India also.
• Each state is fiercely independent and they take inspiration from Mumbai more often than not.
  
• Movies like Mumbai Saga show that.
  

Mera Fauji Calling

• Watched this movie Mera Fauji Calling at PVR Forum Mall.
• I must say this a gem of a movie and must watch.
• This deals with a child who lost her father who is a Fauji or Army man.
• And now sets out in jungle to find "abode of God" where her father is.
• Lucky for her Sharman Joshi finds her and rescues her.
• When she is adamant that she does not want to return without her father, Sharman Joshi tells her that he is her father as people change when they go to God's abode.
• I do not know if this movie is a plot from some other movie or not.
  
• This is that kind of movie which can be made in any language and culture and it will still work.
• It can be made or remade in any Indian language Tamil, Telugu, Bhojpuri, etc or foreign language including Chinese, Nigerian, French, Russian etc
• It will still work.
• It is a concept.
• Soldiers exist in every country and culture.
• Children exist in every society and culture.
• Love for children and children love for parents exist in every culture and society.
• Thus this movie is truly good.
• The actors have also done great roles and leave an impact including Bidita Bag and the child and the one who plays Fauji.
• Shot in Jharkhand in and around jungles the scenery is great and far better than those shot in dense urban centres.
  

Roohi

• Watched this movie Roohi at PVR Cinemas, Koramangala.
• I liked the movie inspite of all reviews.
• I must say during interval I saw review of KRK or Kamaal  R Khan where he has said how can one fall in love with such a scary face and figure which the hero's friend Varun Sharma falls for.
• Actually the heroine has two personalities or what in Indian we call "Roop"
• The heroine has two "roops".
• One is beautiful face and character of Jhanvi Kapoor and the other is one of a "demoness" kind of face and figure what in Indian is called as "Dayan".
• Nobody wants to cure someone of "Dayan" they can cure ghosts but not Dayans.
• Including all priests and brahmins and maulvis and so on.
• Also I must commend Rajkumar Rao as has outdone all heroes including perhaps Ayushman Khurana in taking experimental roles and different kind of roles.
• In this movie he even marries a dog and is willing to marry an old lady who offers solution to the Dayan crisis.
• Rajkumar Rao is definitely the Aamir Khan of this generation.
  
• And the team of Varun Sharma and Rajkumar Rao is great.
• Surely they can come together for more movies and it would be welcome combination.
  

Tom and Jerry

• Watched this 2021 movie Tom and Jerry which is animation plus live action movie.
• Initially was reluctant to go to this movie as I was thinking it to be full animation.
• But I guess when it is animation plus live action we can expect it to be in the category of "Who Framed Roger rabbit" or "Space Jam" Michael Jordan movie.
• I must among all movies watched in the meantime this is the best.
• Worth watching and your time and money is not wasted.
  

Sandeep aur Pinki Faraar

• Watched this movie Sandeep aur Pinki Faraar at PVR Vega City.
• I was expecting this movie to be shot in Nepal after watching the trailer or at least half of the movie but no, this movie is shot in some border town Pithorgarh in India.
• I will recommend please avoid the movie.
• This is not a comedy movie it is a serious movie.
• But I liked the movie.
• Basically I like the movie because a lot of effort goes to making a movie and that effort must be appreciated.
• The twist in the movie is the hero is Pinki and heroine is Sandeep and not the other way around.
• And the hero dons a different dress that of a cross dresser to escape the cops.
