Zero Sum Game

I have slowly come to realise that life is a zero sum game. We can know this concept from the two phenomena which we can observe and I will mention about it below.
  • First one is that when we come into this world we bring nothing. We come empty handed. In other words we come with a big zero. In the course of time, we come to have memories. Our bodies and minds get riddled with memories. What we do, what we experience, what is done to us, where we go etc, all become part of our memories. Then we lose some. We leave a city, we move out. Someone very dear to us leaves us, we leave a job, people may hurt us, spoil our life and the like. We may make a lot of money, buy a lot of cars and personal items, download a lot of stuff and so on. But then we leave the body. Every soul has to leave the body someday. Then what happens we leave with a zero. We cannot take anything at that time. Our bodies gets reduced to ashes and ashes are scattered and that is the end. Thus we come with a zero and leave with a zero.
    • Now religion comes at that time and people say we don't leave with a 'zero'. What we do follows us. Like if we have done good, it 'follows us'. And if we have 'done bad' we have to face the outcome. Thus our 'karma' or 'what we have done in our lives' will be the basis of the 'afterlife' or what comes 'after life'. I will not delve into it and live it to the religious seers.
  • My argument is that 'life is a zero sum game' and the second instance is that just like in a gamble game where the winner wins the game and takes away the 'prize'. But the winner does not take the prize which is 'his creation'. It is okay he may have won the prize due to skill or luck (skill is his but luck is factor beyond his control) it does not matter, but what matters is the 'prize' which he takes is nothing but the 'stake contributed by the environment and all the players including him (the winner)'. Thus one mans gain is other peoples loss. Same man can be replaced by organization. Thus one organization's gain is another organization loss. Thus, what one organization or person think 'he has earned' is actually 'the earning sacrificed by a either a lot of or some or few parties'. Same thing can also apply to 'countries'. Like if India wins then it will be at the expense of some other country. Similarly it can also apply to movies and culture and music for that matter. If Hindi film music is getting popular it would be at the expense of Western music or Indipop whatever. The vessel remains the same. In the case of our planet the 'vessel' remains the environment, but, in the case of movies or TV shows the 'vessel' remains 'channels' or cinema screens available and when these get 'occupied' by some then the opposite parties 'lose out' over the 'spoils'. The spoils are taken by the 'so called winner' who is nothing but a 'claimant' of the existing resources.
We live in a planet which is called earth and in the same planet dinosaurs once roamed 65 million years ago. The dinosaurs lived and died in this planet. Our earth is round. We go round and round around the sun which is also round. The sun also goes in a round shaped path in the milky way galaxy. We don not know if there is life in other planets and we do not know if there is a God or there are Gods. But we know where we live and will die and that our environment in its entirety remains same. There may be a few changes and some species may get extinguished but life as we know it will continue at least for the 'near future'. And the important fact of life is the 'zero sum game' theory.

Dhoom 3

I have watched Dhoom 3 for second time and I will say that the movie is really nice. In the first viewing I could only see Aamir Khan but in the second part we see some things which we missed earlier.
  • Like Abhishek Bachan also has a good sizeable role in the movie. And in the intitial scene he is shown fighting a bunch of South Indian rowdies. His role as a homeless man who approaches Aamir Khan is also nice.
  • Uday Chopra is full comedy role and the comedy appears better when watched second time. Especially the scene where he runs after Abhishek Bachan like he wants to kill him for stealing a hot dog.
  • Pain and intensity of Aamir Khan gets magnified in the second watch and so it appears how a person running away from the law gets increasingly 'squeezed'.
  • The last branch of the Western Bank of Chicago, Aamir never wanted to rob. He wanted to blow it up and that is what we miss out in the first watch. We feel Aamir intention is to rob the bank only. But no, the truth is he keeps only some money for himself and the rest he just throws it away and the last one the intention was never to rob.
But some portions are just out of mind. If Aamir Khan had a brain like what is shown in the movie he could have reached somewhere and not just become an outlaw.

Other movies watched in the meantime are as below:
Bullet Raja: This movie is worth to be avoided. No wonder it was doomed. Atleast upto a certain point it was tolerable. But once they kidnap the Marwari businessman played by Gulshan Grover, it ain't worth it anymore.
Kya Kehna: This is a family movie and worth watching according to me.
Hum Saath Saath Hain: This movie is also a family movie and is also worth watching at least once.
Also, my observation for the 'Dedh Ishqiya' movie is getting expanded. I liked the last scene where the actor who gets kidnapped by Vijay Raaz subsequently gets back at him by coming in a train and pointing at him that he was a 'Nakli Nawab'. It was a good scene no doubt about it. After all a 'faker' (one who fakes) will remain a faker.

Posco

In the beginning I would like to clarify that I am totally in favour of development and industrialisation. I am not in favour of "narrow mindedness" and 'backwardness'.
I would like to say that all the people protesting against Posco plant in Orissa(Odisha) have vested interests. They are protesting against vague reasons like 'human rights'. What about backwardness of the state and the region. Is it not a violation of human rights?
Reasons like why a second port is required? It is required so that the Posco plant can go on without any hiccups.
Loss of livelihood? When plant is formed, millions will get employment in secondary and ancillary services and industries which will form as a result of that.
Loss of land? What is use is land which is keeping people backward like they used to live 2000 years ago. We have to move with the times.
Environment? What use is environment if it does not sustain the most important species of the planet which is the human beings. Also, there would be checks and balances to see that environment is not affected. Why does not it become like a learning curve. Why not learn from it. How to make it a project which is also environment friendly.
I will say the "Indian industrial families and businesses" are the ones who are funding these protests. The ones like Tatas and Jindals and the like. They do not want "foreigners in their midst". The very same people who forced "Uninor" and Etisalat out. And they want to keep Walmart and other multi-brand retail out.
The same people want to keep foreigners out of power sector.
It is truly sad that local people of Odisha cannot see this plot and do not want a very beautiful project like Posco to take off.
The people of Odisha will suffer by continuing to remain backward and 'narrow minded' and I am also suffering mentally. Because if there is lack of development or resistance to development it afffects me mentally.
The very people protesting a project like Posco are not much different than the naxalites who blow up school buildings and mobile towers and public property. Thats my view.

Meanwhile watched two more movies.
"Shudh Desi Romance" and "Dedh Ishqiya". Both movies wanted to show 'something more' but could not show due to 'narrow mindedness' of Indians.
Shudh Desi Romance wanted to show "threesome" but obviously could not show it due to society and censor restrictions.
Dedh Ishqiya wanted to show kissing and lovemaking scenes between Huma and Madhuri but could not show it due to again censor and society restrictions. Obviously, they are lesbians in the movie but due to 'possible protests' like it happened in the case of 'Fire' movie by Shiv Sena and like minded parties they did not show it openly.

Few movies

Watched two movies over the last month.
  • White House Down: What many people say its true. This movie is like the 'original Die Hard' movie. I would like to add that there are also elements of 'Air Force Once' movie in it.
  • Dhoom 3: This movie is completely dominated by Aamir Khan. While in the first half we watch one brother. The second half is dominated by the second brother which is again the same Aamir Khan.
Watched two movies yesterday.
  • Ajnabee : This movie was in my 'to be watched' list for a long time.
  • Main Hoon Naa: This movie also was in my to be watched list for a long time and finally saw it.

Bombay/Hyderabad vs Maharashtra/Telangana

Unfortunately what we are seeing happening in Telangana does not bear well for the Muslim community in general and the country in particular.
Firtstly I will justify this topic. According to me what is happening in Telangana is "history repeating itself". Which history am I talking about. It is the history of the Bombay state.
The 'Bombay state' was huge. Stretching from Karachi till Goa. But it was 'dissolved' and emerged 'Gujarat' and 'Maharashtra'. It is much like present 'Andhra-Rayala' and Telangana. Earlier also in the case of Bombay state, the status of Bombay city was the main question. If it does not become the capital of Gujarat or the capital of Maharashtra, can it become a 'city state' or 'union territory'.
The history shows what happened.
There was 'police firing' in which several people died and Bombay was given to the state inside which it lied and that is Maharashtra.
The plans to make it a union territory was 'shelved forever'. Now fast forward three decades and we find that Bombay is renamed as 'locals' would call it, namely Mumbai.
Similar is the case of Hyderabad but the difference is it was a semi-independent kingdom. After it failed to keep itself 'independent of India' and was annexed, it stood 'dissolved' and its territories were distributed to various states and it became confined to a city.
Now much like earlier, there is fight for Hyderabad. Andhra people want it, some people want it as union territory and 'locals' from region surrounding it want to keep it for themselves.
Also like earlier I feel 'the locals' will prevail and Hyderabad will go to Telangana and it is possible that like earlier 'some blood may be shed'. Also, we may see a 'Hyderabad renaming'. We may not have to wait three decades. It may happen immediately after Telangana comes.
Thus history is repeating and the happenings are eerily similar.
Ultimately, it the 'locals' who are of majority Hindus will prevail. Much like Shiv Sena or MNS same thing would happen in Hyderabad in due course.

Bangladesh and Shia Sunni divide

I will say that my earlier theory about the 'fundamental difference between Shia and Sunni', 'India being Shia' and the fact that conflict between Shia and Shia or Sunni and Sunni being deadlier than that between Shia and Sunni is clearly visible in the country of Bangladesh.
Bangladesh was East Pakistan earlier to its independence. Bangladesh independence movement was a violent struggle which was funded by an insurgency movement fully financed and aided by India.
India exploited the situation in East Pakistan which was reeling from a natural disaster like cyclone and 'denial of election results by miltary Govt. of Pakistan which was mainly West Pakistan based.
Now let us face it. Pakistan now is mainly Punjab and Sindh. As I had analysed earlier people from Punjab are like Shia. Even Hindu Bengalis are like Shia but Islamic Bengalis are Sunnis. Islamic Bengal is what is now Bangladesh.
And that is the reason people from India like Bihar, UP, North East have a deep hatred towards Bangladesh. Another point of 'hate' is the fact that people from Bangladesh consume beef but being backward they are unable to import high quality beef from abroad and rely on cheaper alternative like procuring cattle 'illegally from India'. It is a high risk job because Indians are bloodthirsty when it comes to protection of cattle especially cows.
The India Bangladesh difference has no solution except that Bangladesh abandon its existing path and 'follow the dictates of India'.
Which is no doubt happening.
India, Israel, US all are working to 'destroy Bangladesh as an Islamic Sunni nation and make it 'secular' which will suit them.

New Look

After clearing my cheek of hair last week, I had made a new entry in this blog.
But somehow I felt that, that look was not good. If we see from the side, the hair below our jaw is still visible. Thus yesterday I used the Philips trimmer and then took out some more hair. As you can see now I have a "French cut beard". Yes people the one I was running away from stuck to me.
In earlier posts I had written that one should either keep full beard "in its entirety" or be "entirely clean shaven". But there is a middle path and that middle path I have found I feel.
Now not only do I have a mustache but I also have a 'small beard' which surrounds my chin. If I let the full beard grow, it would become huge. It would become like a forest and many people would not feel it well. But a smaller beard would appear 'manageable to them'.
Also I learn that a few people keep 'soul patch'. Reference I got from HERE.
But I have used the trimmer above that portion of the hair which makes 'soul patch' possible as well.
In the above link which I shared the 'French beard' is also known as 'Goatee'.
Let us see how long this new look of mine lasts.

Meanwhile watched another movie and that is 'Zanzeer' (2013 version). I liked the movie. And I do not care about what others felt for the movie. I felt it is a good time-pass movie. Okay to be watched once. And since I watched it on Videocon D2H on TV, I felt okay. Do not know what I would have felt if I had watched it on the big screen.
