Live TV vs Download

After watching Bigg Boss Season 7 full season, I decided to watch Bigg Boss 6 which was telecast in 2012.
What happened, that upto 2012 I never watched any Indian TV programs regularly, maybe occassionally I used to watch. In 2012, I watched IPL live on TV.
In 2011 I did not watch both the World Cup as well as IPL on TV. But 2012 I watched.
In 2013, I watched IPL through a new medium and that was on youtube. Then I 'discovered' or 'stumbled upon' Comedy Nights with Kapil show. And then I downloaded and began watching that.
Then in Mid-September Bigg Boss 7 began and I began watching it. It was good to watch. But I must confess I could not have watched everyday on TV. Only by downloading from youtube, I could manage to watch it regularly.
Then I downloaded a few more shows, namely as below:
  • Mahabharat: This one I downloaded several months of shows but could not watch even a single episode and so I did the next best thing. DELETED the entire folder which had three months of episodes.
  • Fear Files: These I have downloaded episodes for several months but have watched only 2-3 episodes. The folder is still there but new download is stopped.
  • Bhoot Aya: These also I have downloaded but watched only 6-7 episodes. The folder is still there but new download is stopped.
  • Nautanki (Colors): These also I have downloaded but am yet to watch even a single episode. But am not deleting it.
  • Bigg Boss 6: This I was downloading from Desi Tashan. I had downloaded for October and November 2012. But then I realised I do not have time to watch it. Hence, no need to "accumulate it". And hence I have deleted all the files I downloaded (more than a month of episodes). I was planning to watch Bigg Boss 5 and 4 and earlier after 6, but now that project is shelved. There is no time to watch the previous seasons. This also shows how limited human beings are in comprehending what is happening around them. It is fortunate if we can capture even 1% of what is happening around us.
    • One thing I found in Bigg Boss 6, haven't watched Bigg Boss 5 and earlier, is that Salman Khan dominates the show. I mean we watch the show for the format. But I feel, Salman is beyond "life-size". And that is one of my reasons for not watching Bigg Boss 6. Just could not stand that every weekend Salman Khan comes and dominates the show. I mean Salman man, give us a break. Bigg Boss is one of the best shows out there and you just spoil it man. But I saved a lot of time due to that. As I won't have to watch Bigg Boss 6 and earlier due to that. Maybe I will watch Bigg Boss 8 when it happens inspite of Salman (if he is the host).
  • Nach Baliye 6: This I am downloading with the hope that I will be able to watch it. But I have still several months of shows left to watch of other shows including Comedy Nights with Kapil.
  • Khatron ke Khiladi: This show I will not download because I feel it is waste. We know that the contestant will remain safe. No harm will come to him/her. And even if it involves that much of danger, it is crazy. I mean why should anyone take that much of danger upon themselves. And what I have seen, Fear Factor (the foreign version) show is better or looks better. The Khatron ke Khiladi looks like a cheap imitation of the original.
This is apart from home where I have taken a second TV connection. While the first one was Videocon D2H, the new one is Tata Sky. I find that HD channels show very less ad and TV should be watched HD. I am watching variety of shows in AXN Channel as well Sports channels (shows like WWE) or Travel Channels and Food + travel shows is especially nice.

Meanwhile, I watched one more movie and that is Bhagam Bhag. I liked the movie. Such kind of comedy movies are really welcome. I have a feeling that the action actors "sins" get washed away when he does comedy movies. I had read about Kader Khan as to how he abandoned negative action roles after some incident in his personal life. Similarly we can say that it can also be made applicable to action heroes.
